Summer comes to us from a local shelter where she was a stray. They have estimated her to be about 4 years old. She is very skinny right now and will need to put on some weight. She has what appears to be a mammary tumor and she will also need to be spayed and have entropian done on both of her eyes. We haven't learned much about her yet as she has just entered her foster home and is still quite shy and scared.
UPDATE 1/25/17: Summer had her surgery and was spayed and had bilateral entropian done on her eyes. The cyst on her chest was also removed. She will wear a cone through the end of January and will then be ready for her forever home! Summer does have a tendency to show dominance through humping and we think she will do best with older kids. She does do well with other dogs, as long as they don't get too upset with her trying to hump them on occasion. Summer has more labored breathing than your average bully and because of that you will want to make certain she is kept cool and not over exerted. We are happy to report she is now up to 40 pounds and looking great!
UPDATE: 2/15/17 Summer is doing well medically now and is all healed up. Due to skin allergies we recommend her adopters keeping her on Apoquel for life. Without it she is quite itchy. With her questionable history she can still be nervous around new people, so she will do best in a quiet home without children. She does not do well with cats. She gets along with other English Bulldogs pretty well though.
