Note: Not yet medically released

Jake is approximately 4 years old and is an awesome dog with folks he knows. He is nervous/anxious meeting new people in his home and needs socialization with strangers. Jake came to BTB via MDAS unable to walk and in excruciating pain. He was taken immediately to Miami Veterinary Specialists where he was made comfortable and diagnosed with discospondylitis, a bacterial infection of the spine, through CT scan with contrast/myelogram. He has been treated with high dose of 2 antibiotics for several months (just one of which is $300/month) and is continuing treatment, after which he will be neutered in March, then have another month of antibiotics. A recent recheck with our neurologist shows he is progressing well. Jake spent quite a bit of time in the hospital before he was well enough to be released. He is a big boy, possibly an olde, as is tall and has a slight muzzle. Jake has obviously had training… knows sit, down, give paw commands and walks well on a leash. He is very good with other dogs and is chicken friendly! He will be a great addition to someone when ready for his forever home!
