Funny,
I was just thinking this afternoon about Ty's weight too

Since time change and warmer (sometimes) weather we've resumed out after supper walks, but he hasn't begin slimming down any.

And I know I'm probably to blame, with the snacks.

Does anybody know, just how many calories they should consume a day?

Just like humans itā€™s the carbs you need to count. As carbs turns into sugars etc. just depends on what you feed as snacks n kibbles. I feed raw ans itā€™s a pound a day for both. Their snacks are again, raw or veggies/fruits. Commercial snacks, table scrap, cooked fat etc, yes that will creep up on them. An Example...Legumes are great but it does have a lot of carbs.

She is really getting heavy. I can barely lift her!
We went for a walk the other day and a dog came running out to the road. She started growling so of course Bella went right back at her. Luckily hubby was there. I picked Bella up before he could grab the other dogs collar to keep them separated. I don't know what I would have done if he weren't with me. As I couldn't have held her for very long because she is so heavy , not only that she was wiggling and trying to get down too. Lol

you're right they do,
I grew up with pits, boxers and american bulldogs. Never ever was one agressive,.........protective, yes. but never agressive.

That's funny we have two Pitts and a boxer and of course Bella right now. I have also had German Shepards.

Does anybody know, will it work on snakes.
That's my biggest fear, I live in a very rural area some of the streets we walk have lots of heavy vegetation.

it's not that uncommon to be driving along and see a snake.

I am curious myself if it would work on snakes.
I see them every once in a while in the road. Not anywhere we would walk though. Thank goodness.
A friend of mine has seen copperheads and rattlers in her yard. She lives closer to a wooded area here in town.
A couple of dogs were bitten in her neighborhood hood a few years back. Same family the at the same time. One made it one didn't. :(
