They are having dog days today and tomorrow. It's usual admission cost for people and $5 per dog (dog's admissions go to San Antonio Humane Society) Think we might go back tomorrow. Larry had such a good time and so did we
GREAT pictures! What a great idea for a fundraiser! I wonder if the Bellevue Botanical Gardens do this? They certainly should. Since Bea came home almost three years ago, I've not darkened their doorstep. LOL I used to go all the time. Now, if the dogs can't go --- I ain't going (unless I sneak them in which I have been known to do).
Thanks
For the gardens - the only thing special they did to get read was to put up a few signs about cleaning up after your dog and they put out plastic swimming pools with water.
It was a lot of fun except for a few idiots we encountered. (Had at least 2 people think Larry was a pit bull, one that told her friend to stay away from Larry because bulldogs were mean.) The only other thing was while we were in line waiting to pay to get in, an owner wasn't watching his dog and it got up in Larry's face and tried to eat him. Luckily, we pay attention to everything going on so no one got hurt. Few minutes later a little girl came up and was checking Larry out. I told her she could pet him - he was really sweet - loves kid. The lady in front of us goes - oh, ya right. Guess he is good with kids and not other dogs? Told her, umm... ya, that was the other dog starting crap. We wouldn't bring a dog aggressive dog to an event like that. She wouldn't get her dogs near Larry though.
I love people. :D
