    Default Egg Yolks?

I am severe lactose intollerent, I can eat whites but not the yolk. I made a dish that had 4 boiled eggs in it, I removed the yolk and just cut up the whites.

I saved the boiled yolks and have been giving one to Vegas after his breakfast for the last two days. Are these even any good for dogs? I thought high protein but I know the protein is from the whites, but he gets that in his food. So is it just high cholesterol? I do not do this on a regular basis, I was just wondering??

Of course he loves them, but then again he would eat if I handed it to him.

Egg yolks are a great source of protein and are good for Vegas to eat. The "experts" keep changing their minds but the latest is the cholesterol in egg yolks is the good kind. The only downside I see is he could get rotten egg farts!

Just one a day should be ok. If I remember right the majority of the vitamins and minerals in eggs come from the yolk.

Unless you notice his allergies being worse then I'd think it would be good for him because of the protein content.
I'm "slightly" allergic to eggs. Used to be a big problem when I was a toddler, but now I've outgrown most of the issues I had with them and just can't have too many eggs or I'll break out in a rash. A couple don't hurt anything though. I just can't go on a boiled egg diet or anything.
I'd imagine the way bullies have allergies to all sorts of things that eggs could be suspect if he starts showing increased symptoms.

I agree that one a day should be ok. I know with raw that some people feed the whole egg, shells included. I have yet to try it with Stig though.

I don't think it should be a problem .. although I wouldn't give him a LOT! Maybe spread it out to one or two a week???

I think it would be fine and probably good for him. Yolks are very good for you aside from being fattening. I actually saw an interview with some health "specialist" who said eating 2 eggs a day, with yolks is good for your metabolism. Who knew?

I hardboil my eggs if I'm not going to cook them before the use by date and then I give Brutus one in the morning. He seems fine with them, knows to come running when he hears the egg crack too lol.

Jeff and I eat 2 eggs a day durin the week, and we also make the boys share a egg and they love it. Lex will be waiting by the stove at 5:30 and if for some reason we are runnin late and he has to wait longer than he has to he'll give us the snort like hurry up and he'll also start breathing harder when he's mad lol.
