I have my Petunia who is 5 months on Earthborn Holistic grain free puppy food. She is shedding something horrible, much worse than normal. Could her having a possible chicken allergy cause this? Just bought a huge bag and wanted to get thoughts before i open the new bag.

If this has come on now with spring, perhaps she's blowing her wintercoat? Castor sheds more this time of year than, say, middle of summer.

She can be blowing her winter coat. However, a lot of bulldogs have an intolerance to chicken so you can try a different protein and exchange the new bag you have for a different bag. Is she itchy and/or licking her paws?

I don't remember when Castor first started shedding like crazy but he was pretty young. He was in born in the spring so could have been when he was almost a year, though. He doesn't shed at all that much now (he's 6 yrs old). When we brushed him ack then, we thought his entire coat would come off!

Earthborn Holistics is a good brand. If she's not itchy or licking her paws, you can definitely open the new bag and see how it goes. You can get a Zoom Groom brush and give her a good brushing to help rid of the loose fur.
