ARG! I know. I was reading it last night... chicken by products. rice, grain, crap, etc. So upset at myself for not catching this earlier. I was recommended it by his breeder and his vet.

All good.. you got it early!!

I give our dogs Fromm dry food and Canidae canned food mixed in the Fromm, about 2 tablespoons of the Canidae.

Sad isnā€™t it? Feeding dogs grains, feathers for fillers, corn etc....and then I read which I canā€™t recall where, vets should be applauded for all the help/work they do with our pets! Sure Iā€™m for them 200% but you do have no matter what, the vets that just see the $$$ and not whatā€™s best for your pet. Like this post, selling to ppl RC. They gives bad wrap to the great vets out there. Ok thatā€™s another topic lolll

Howā€™s Puppy doing?

Very slow improvement. Iā€™m hesitant to say that heā€™s on the mend because he still has a noticeable tilt and he canā€™t walk a straight line.

However... just look at this handsome boy!

Such a great looking dude! Did you go back to the vet/specialist lately to rule out neurological or even stroke? Has to be something as youā€™re right, itā€™s slow.

Just once. Due back for his 2nd recheck on Tuesday. Thatā€™s when the antibiotics are done. The vet wonā€™t put him under for any X-rays or MRIs until the ear infection is cleared up.
So we are working on that... last Saturday she was still unable to see his eardrum.

Bella, read what one of our member wrote..Iā€™ve been doing this since day one Iā€™ve read it. I swear by it also for Nyala ā€˜s tail pocket, ears, rashes etc. i just added 5drops of tea tree for her tail pocket. Even my vet asked for the recipe. Go figure!

:hijacked::hijacked: sorry!

It's been a little while since I've posted so to catch up...Sgt.Schultz is turning 10 tomorrow and is still full of himself. His health has been pretty good (lots of maintenance) but I wouldn't trade him for the world.I've been home cooking for about 3 years (in a pinch we use a grain free honest kitchen that we add a protein to) and this seems to work well for his system. His chronic ear infections have been healed with a blend of essential oils that we apply weekly with a cotton balls - better than any antibiotic or vet supplied ear drop.

Here is the essential oil recipe for ear infections or just maintaining good ear health.Spray on cotton ball and wipe out ears ...don't spray directly in ears.In a 2 ounce glass spray bottle, combine:

15 drops Lavender
15 drops Geranium
15 drops Frankincense
15 drops Basil
10 drops Arborvitae

Fractionated*Coconut Oil*to fill the bottle about 3/4 of the way fullShake bottle well before using. Use once a week to treat ears that have an ear infection or once a month as a preventative measure in ears that are prone to recurrent ear infectionsIf ears are especially inflamed or infected, dilute 2 drops of lavender in 4 drops of fractionated*coconut oil*on a cotton ball and apply lightly to soothe the inflamed ear area.

Ive had my boy on candidae all ages for the better part of 6 months now. No health issues. He gets a little over 3 cups a day (This seems like a lot, but I promise you he is lean and healthy; no discolored or squirt stool). I switched to it after paying a ton for orijen medium puppy when he was younger. The 75/25, 50/50, 100/0 switch worked well for me too.

Hey...Louie gets 2 cups of kibble in the am and about 10 ounces of raw in the pm! I think our boys are about the same age.

Haha maybe it just seems like a lot to me! I recently upped him half a cup on both ends of the day, his stool was looking a little hard and he was too lean for my liking. Three flights of stairs multiple times a day probably doesn't help that. Lol. He is 14 months now.

Louie is 13 months. He was getting 4 cups of kibble a day until I switched a meal to raw in January. This guy is like the energizer bunny lol.

Obie and louie are very similar in size. I think louie might be taller, but obie might have a longer body. Im afraid his head isn't going to grow much [emoji24] but Ill love him just the same.
