My 8.5 month old male English Bulldog weighs about ~48 lbs. right now. He gets fed 2x a day (3 - 3.5 cups total, TOTW). He absolutely loves natural peanut butter and everyday before work, I will put about 1-2 tablespoons in his kong and toss it in his crate to keep his busy for a bit; however, I am wondering if this is too much for him to have everyday? He's healthy, doesn't look overweight to me, but I'm curious if I should cut back. He barely finishes his food at his meal times, so I'm sure he's getting enough to eat!

Thank you.

As long as he doesn't get over weight, and it doesn't sound like he is, it won't hurt a thing.

Thank you.

I would cut his food back to 1 cup at each meal... 3.5 cups is a lot of food at his age. And as David stated, as long as he is not over weight, the PB is just fine.
Can you post a picture of your boy?

He's a big, gorgeous boy and my favorite, red & white, beautiful coat too!

As Christine suggested, 3.5 cups is a bit much now that he's almost 9 mo's.

Cut back to a total of 3 cups and at some point whenever he's less active, to
2.5 cups total as he seems heavy boned and will continue growing until he's
3 years old. Up until 2, they grow upwards then fill out, chest widens, head
drops & gets heavier too.

We need LOTS of pics of this stud :)

I was starting to think that 3.5 cups a day was a lot for him. Honestly, he rarely finishes all of his food at meal times and I end up saving the rest for his next meal (fed twice a day). Right now he probably only eats a total of 2 - 2.5 cups a day because he never finishes his food! (he's easily distracted :))

Thank you for the kind words to Lincoln. He's certainly big boned and a handsome fella!

Didnt know Bulldogs came in this manner of thinking. Dooley will hang out and eat an entire 40 lb bag of food as the house burned down around him.

Oh and beautiful Bully you got there.

Love the pictures! He's so cute! I agree that if he isn't overweight it's fine to have the peanut butter treat. If you're concerned or just want to switch it up you can always stuff a long with Greek yogurt and veggies and freeze it or peeled apple slices (a favorite of my bullies when they were teething). If he isn't eating all of his food, go ahead and cut down. How much depends on the dog. My older bully Ruckus is about 65-68 pounds, and gets 3 cups per day. He was too hungry when I cut him down lower. My 1.5 year old bully Regina (45 pounds) only gets 2 cups per day (however she insists that I'm starving her and she should really get free access to the refrigerator -- we're in negotiations).
