Both my guys are on Fromms Pork and Peas, and they have been loving it. Recently, one of them has started getting yeasty in his folds (even with diligent cleaning) and both of their ears have also gotten infected with the recent change in seasons. Also, same one who has been particularly yeasty has firm poos in the morning (it's usually a series event) and thins to diarrhea by the end of the usual 3 part poop. The other one is significantly better, solid bm's consistently, nice coat, etc. They both get the same amount of food, treats, water, etc.

I switched to Beef Fritata once, and they both smelled horrible, looking to try another Fromms option. Should I just keep with the pork and peas and hope things go back to normal? I read about anchovies being great all around, and ended up getting some natural soaked in spring water ones. I made a disgusting concoction of anchovies, fromms, coconut oil, and plain yogurt, and the boys loved it, and it didn't seem to mess with their tummies. Perhaps that should be a regular thing?

Have you tried the Salmon? Yogurt's great, do you do that daily? I, too, am battling seasonal allergies and yeast…so I may not be of too much help (sorry)…do you add ACV to their water?

It seems seasonal, I'm glad I'm not the only one (sorry for finding comfort in the fact that we are both suffering!)

I do yogurt a few times a week. Not as often as a should, so I''m guilty of that. I just ordered another bag of pork and peas, I'm bad about letting it go down till the last meal before the new bag arrives, if there is ever a delay in shipping, I'll be grilling chicken breast for the boys!

I don't put anything in their water.

Watch the chicken a lot of bullies have bad reactions to it. Definitely do the yogurt every single morning that's a must. We've been through Beef Fritata, Pork and Peas and Lamb and Lentils and once we found the Salmon-Tunalini flavor everything calmed down for the most part. Every year when the weather warms up the allergies come back but not as bad as before.

Switching off the P&P was not a good change. I think it scared me from trying new flavors. I will continue to add yogurt in the am and try the salmon next bag. So in two weeks or so :)

Good luck! Don't be sorry about suffering together, I know exactly how frustrated you must feel, it's good to have a fellow sufferer lol. It's been quite a battle on our end, I started to blog about it but decided to stop until I see a few specialists and really get a handle on wth is going on…
As far as the loose stools, I believe pumpkin is good for that. It's not necessary to add the pumpkin if you're switching between the four Fromms (so I have read and done myself w/out trouble) but it's great for loose (and dry/tough) stool.

Also, if you can, pick up a bottle of Apple Cider Vinegar (organic w/the mother in it) next time you go grocery shopping. You will probably notice a difference in a few days once you start that daily (just a cap full in a big bowl of filtered water).
Keep me posted, especially w/how the salmon works.

…just to add one more thing, pumpkin should be 100% pure, sorry forgot to mention that. They carry it at most pet stores, but if not, the grocery store should be stocked (especially this time of year;)

Yeah, I've read about the pumpkin :) I've been planning on getting it for a while.

Do you just deal with it, or do you switch the food? I'm ok with it regularly, just don't like seeing my boys uncomfortable.

I switched to Game Bird for awhile, but did not see any change good/bad --- so I went back to P&P because it the best outside of raw. Nothing is serious, just tearing and a dirty ear.... no infections or skin problems,

Cheli (Frenchie) does get picky at times, but the stranger things with him.... I can take the P&P out of the bowl and lay it on the floor and he will scarf it down.... put it in the bowl and he sniffs and walks away :stinkeye:

I think it's a good thing to switch up the Fromm (with other Fromm four varieties) from time to time…my personal experience w/Pork and Peas is that Bass gets bored w/it after the third (or so) bag - we get the BIG bag (maybe that's why, it lasts too long?) When he starts to leave a little in the bowl, I have learned that it's time to switch it up and go w/another Fromm.
Any time I have tried another kibble his tear stains are disgustingly out of control (almost black) and it happens overnight…Fromm is the only kibble that keeps them at bay. A little variety may be good IMO :blush2:

Yeah, I try to keep it different, but they know that if they don't eat, it will still be there for dinner :p They are not so picky.

They are also great, as I can keep the food out during the day, and they will eat as they please. I also do the big bag, but it doesn't last long with double the fun.

Oh how I would LOVE double the fun…maybe once my human "doubles" complete elementary school. What's one more girl in this house?! :w00t:;)
