Transitioning off the Green Bean Diet??

So I have had Barkley on the green bean diet for almost a year now and he has lost about 12 pounds (maybe more? - I haven't weighed him a month or 2) and is looking great! He was around 70lbs at first and last time I weighed him was down to 58!

Now that his weight/figure is where we want it to be, how do I transition him off the diet? I don't want him to get too skinny if I keep him on it for too long!

He had been eating 1 cup of kibble twice a day, then while on the diet he eats 1/2 cup of kibble and 1/2 cup of green beans twice a day. Do I go back to the original amount of kibble or will that just make him gain the weight back? I'm worried if I do any less he will still be hungry!!

Thanks for any advice!! :)

It is fine to go to the 1cup 2x a day... I did that with Banks and she held her weight at 60-62 the rest of her life

Oh awesome, thanks so much for letting me know!! We are also getting a new puppy in a week (EEEEEEK!!! :) ) so I'm sure he will be getting a lot more exercise running around and playing with the pup all the time now too, so I'm thinking that will help with his weight as well :)

We tried it for a good couple of months. He ate them no problem, but yep... pooped em' right out. LOL We're on The Honest Kitchen now, I hope that helps him shed a few pounds!
