Are the bone marrow bones from the pet store ok to give? I've been wanting to give one to Bowser but didn't know if I should because he's only about 5 months old.

I do not buy them cause some are cooked and others treated/bleached. I buy them from the grocery store... Meat department and ask for them to be cut in 3-5 inch long pieces. After marrow is gone, i stuff with peanut butter or cream cheese and freeze them for a treat later in the week

2BullyMama that's brilliant! Do you boil them first or straight up raw? Do they get stinky?

Straight up raw... No odor unless they are bad.

I give my guys big marrow bones, but the best in my opinion are shoulder blades. Most of the meat is carved of and they're too big so there's no choking risk.

That pic was taken about 2 years ago. No more eating a bone together...they would only fight...

Raw marrow bones from the butcher are great for dogs... Excellent source of nutrients,

DO NOT COOK THEM... Cooked bones do splinter and cause internal issues, but raw are good and given when supervised. I have given these to all my bullies... 10 plus years and never an issue

Recently got bone marrow bones and he loves them!!
My question is
How long can he have one before I throw it away. Just don't want him to get sick or anything.
He has it for about 45 minutes a night and then I re freeze it and give it to him the next night.

Let him have as long as he wants... My guys always finish usually 1-2 hours so i never had to refreeze or refrigeratorate them --- how big is the bone? Length should be about 4-6 inches

The bones are about 6 inches long.
He's still a little guy so I don't give it to him as long, usually long enough for us to eat dinner or so.
Thanks :) :)

He is 5 months.
I'm sure he could demolish the whole thing for sure.

Let him at it..... once a week or every other week - it is a great source of energy release too! And, once empty... rinse and stuff with PB or cream cheese and freeze!
