Ever since Stella & Chewy's had the recall, it's been madness at my place.
Some of you may know that I'm very anal about what I want to feed my boys. We've been through Fromm, Stella & Chewy's Raw, Royal Canine HP (rx food) for skin issues, then back to S & C, and now on Canidae because of the Stella recall.
While I like Canidae, I've sent them emails asking various questions and have received very vague responses which turns me off. So I went back to looking for a food that I'm more comfortable feeding.
I have very specific requirements when it comes to kibble.
1. I need to know where the meat, fruits and vegetables are sourced from.
2. I need to know where the food is made.
3. I need the ingredient list to contain named animals
4. Has to be grain free
5. No animal by-products
6. Animal based protein kibble, not plant (legumes).
Apparently, it's not very easy to meet the above. At least I was having a problem.
So when I found Farmina, an Italian pet food company, I was excited.
Farmina Pet Foods - Happy pet. Happy You. | Happy pet. Happy you.
According to their page, they've met all my requirements. Didn't even need to contact them to find out where they source from, everything's listed.
I did a search for them here and only found them mentioned a few times, but there wasn't any info.
So I'm about to go ahead and order their "Farmina Natural & Delicious Wild Herring Grain-Free Formula Dry Dog Food".
Fingers crossed this is the one!
