How many bully owners have to boil water and soak the kibble before their dogs feeding?

My bulldog aspirated kibble when he was 3 months old and is now on a 'soft food' diet ... was just curious if other owners have dealt with a similar issue

When I did feed kibble I would always soak it a bit. To be expansion before is a better option than expanding in their stomachs.

Another reason to add warm water/ broth/etc is, it adds
needed moisture, most bullies do not drink enough water
daily, weird huh?

I add Kefir and a small amount of water but not to soften. I feed Monty immediately after adding it.

Nope, don't wet it.

One of bullies aspirated last year (had aspiration/pneumonia). We don't know for certain what he aspirated on but it was due to an elongated palate.

How would softening the kibble help? I'm not making the connection (could be from lack of sleep..lol).

It's something to do with the swallowing mechanism I believe.
I really don't know if it relates to dogs but some people who have had strokes for example have problems swallowing and have to have their food either chopped quite small or pureed to stop them aspirating.

Nope. The only time they get soft food is when they are having problems then it is rice with some pumpkin.

Yep I soak colonels and the poodles food with hot tap water let it soak while I'm in the shower and then add a few tbs of wet food and medications.
