Add a heaping tablespoon of canned pumpkin... it will harden the stool (safely) until the transition is complete. Make sure that itā€™s just canned pumpkin and not the pie filling with adders.. you should find in most any supermarket with the baking supplies.

quick question, I'm feeding my 4 month old puppy with fromm gold and it recommends 1 1/3 - 2 3/4 cup daily. That is 3/4 cup per meal (3 times a day). Should I still follow the suggested portion or should I just feed him 1 cup, 3 times a day

I'll just add in that every dog is different. Puppies need more food as they are growing but a good way to gauge if you need to add more food or less food is to watch their poop. Struggling to poop could be not enough food and soft serve style poop could be too much food. I always say it's a like a science project to find the perfect amount to feed.
