Hi I have a 3 year old bulldog he has very bad allergies to him to vet skin specialist they put him on meds but any suggestions on what is the best dry food
Do you know any of the triggers? A lot of bullies are allergic to Chicken and do not react well to grains. I've been using Taste of the Wild with Bison and Boris has been doing well on it. He has issues with Chicken, Turkey, salmon and potatoes so we've been on an adventure moving him to an adult food that doesn't cause him to react. There are a lot of folks here that like the Fromms 4 star kibble since you can easily switch between the proteins without having to phase them into the new kibble.
Great advice from members above. My guys also have allergies to chicken, salmon, beef and grains. We are currently feeding them Fromm's Lamb and Lentil and some home cooked. It can be a frustrating process of trying to find a good quality food and one that they tolerate, and it's really just trial and error until you find the right one for your dog.
Also adding supplements that boost the immune system helps with allergy symptoms, I add 2 Tbsp's of plain yogurt to their morning kibble everyday for the Probiotics, which is good for digestion and for gut flora, which helps boost the immune system, I also add 1 tbsp of apple cider vinegar to their evening kibble everyday along with 1 tsp. of Kelp.
Using medications and steroids only work as long as you are on them, and they have lots of side effects, and should only be used in severe reactions, and then only short term. Using natural supplements don't have any side effects, are inexpensive and can be bought at a grocery store, health food store, or a a Pharmacy.
