I have a 7 -8 month old bulldog. I think we are having a food issue with. She eats fromm beef and frittata, she is itching her chin and licking her paws, also her eyes are wet causing her folds to get wet also. Do you think we should try a different type of fromms such as pork? And because its the same family of food could we just switch without the transition period? it should take a week or so to see results? thanks in advance

You don't need to do transition if it's the same line of food. I think Beef Frittata and Pornk n' Peas are.

It can take up to 30 days to see a difference, so you need to give it longer than a week.

Yes, with Fromms you can switch with no transition time. It all depends on the dog, you could see results within a few weeks, sometimes it takes longer. I know with Tyson, I typically can see results pretty quick, within at least the first 2-3 weeks or so!

Does it seem like something i may be able to fix with a change in food? My vet wants to put her on some medication and I'm not to keen on giving her medication everyday I don't need to.

Yes!! I would def start with the food, since that tends to be the main culprit, besides environmental of course. In the meantime, be sure to keep her face & paws clean & DRY. You can use baby destin too, for her face folds. The food may be it, and the change in protein could work! Just READ ingredients in the food, bc alot of them have multiple proteins regardless of the name. Example, the name may be beef, but when you read the ingredients, it has chicken! So just read what's in each one, when trying to determine which to choose. We had to do a limited ingredient food, that literally has just one protein, and work from there... in order to eliminate things. We are still working on it....

If it's a food allergy then yes. But to be honest, to do a true food trial, you would need to start with 1 protein she's never had before, see how she tolerates it, and then add things to it. It works best when you control the ingredients. It's impossible to do that with commercial dog foods.

However, many here have had wonderful results with commercial dog food just by switching from protein to another. So it doesn't hurt to try.

So I have switched from the beef to the lamb. My local store didn't have pork and peas at the time. We had the same problem with the lamb so we have now switched to the pork and peas. Maggie just has wet folds all the time! I clean them though out the day and they are moist every time. How long will it take for the food change to affect her? Is there anything I could give her to stop her eyes from watering till the food change kicks in?

It can take 30 days for the old food to be totally out of her system.

I would also suggest the Salmon Tunalini, my dogs LOVE this. I also have never had any issues. I bought a huge bag of Beef frittata and she actually has been eating this for about.... 3 weeks? And I as well am noticing this. I only got this because my dog store was out of the other one. :/ Also with beef fritatta they have LOTS of gas!!! Jovi farts at least twice an hour. With Salmon Tunalini it was like twice a day.
