    Default Nu pro supplement

Anyone have any experiences or thoughts with this? I was given a sample packet. You can sprinkle it over food, or add a lil water n make a gravy.
I give Brie coconut oil w her food at breakfast. I stopped the salmon oil and am currently transitioning her to a limited ing food to see if her allergy symptoms improve..not sure if she would need any additional supplements tho...

    Here is the ingredient list:

NUPRO® ALL NATURAL DOG SUPPLEMENT - THE ORIGINAL "GOLD"
Specially Designed to Condition Your Dog from the Inside-Out!
Desiccated Liver - The ultimate in palatability! The fresh, natural flavor of real liver is wonderful for the finicky eater! Supplies iron and B vitamins. Just add water to make a Grrreat Gravy that Dogs Crave!

Norwegian Kelp - A natural seaweed - a rich source of trace minerals including iodine, necessary for proper glandular function and metabolism. An excellent source of vitamins A, B1, B2, C, and E. Aside from nourishing the glands, these vitamins are beneficial for maintaining overall good health and are vital to sustain the proper growth of bones, a healthy heart rate, a sound central nervous system, and the assurance that muscles stay firm and strong. Norwegian kelp grows deep in the ocean, mostly in cold waters, so it contains the purest of valuable nutrients from the ocean floor. Supports healthy skin pigmentation and coat highlights.

Amino Acids & Enzymes - A wide array of naturally available Amino Acids and Enzymes helps the body to maintain healthy hormonal balances and to fortify a resilient Immune System. Offers support for pets with seasonal allergies.

Nutritional Yeast Cultures - Support the maintenance of healthy skin and a full, luxurious hair coat which may minimize the occurrence of excessive shedding and dry skin. Provide proteins, zinc and biotin. Best source of B vitamins. Most companies use cheaper brewers yeast which can be a combination of hops, corn, grains, wheat, etc.; all by-products from the brewery. Many animals have grain sensitivities, and brewers yeast may further aggravate an allergy condition in certain animals. With nutritional yeast cultures, grown and harvested from a veggie source, NO grains are present at all. Something to think about when reading ingredient labels.

Flaxseed - Provides essential Omega Fatty Acids. Most absorbable vegetable fatty acid for the canine. Rich in Omega 3 Fatty Acids, alpha-Linolenic acid, fiber and lignans. Helps maintain healthy, shiny fur and soft skin.

Lecithin - A rich source of choline, utilized by the body in the production of acetyl-choline, a neurotransmitter essential for normal, healthy nerve and brain function. Supports healthy liver function.

Garlic - Awesome ingredient that does so much for the body! Garlic contains allicin, a powerful antioxidant, helpful in supporting healthy immune and cardiovascular systems.

Calcium Citrate - Calcium is best absorbed in an acidic environment, hence calcium citrate is the best absorbed supplemental form of calcium - it does not require extra stomach acid for absorption. Intended to provide nutritive support for healthy bones, teeth and nerve function.

Lactobacillus Acidophilus - Promotes friendly bacteria in the intestinal tract thereby encouraging efficient digestion which may reduce the occurrence of flatulence.

I haven't heard of it but it looks very similar to what is in the HardyPet that we give Harlea.

I know Harlea is on a good food as well, do you also add salmon oil or coconut oil? Or just her food and the hardypet?

We stopped giving her salmon oil as it was causing horrible tear stains. However, she gets keifer and her HardyPet after breakfast. With dinner she gets 2 teaspoons of coconut oil with her kibble and before she goes to bed she gets yogurt with bananas.

Brie has been having horrible watery eyes n tear stains as well as a few other allergy type symptoms - paw licking, but only sometimes and blowing out her nose in the middle of the night. I stopped all the toppers (carrots, green beans, broccoli) and stopped the yogurt n salmon oil. The blinking has gotten less, but the watery eyes r still bad. I added coconut oil to replace the salmon oil as she never had issues w it. So, I'm wondering if an added supplement would help or hinder.

It almost sounds like she is having a reaction to something in her kibble.

That is what I think. The toppers I was giving her are in her kibble, so it would make sense w less, she would react less but my goal is for her to not react at all! Lol that is why I'm somewhat reluctant to add anything w out figuring out what is bugging her first. Just don't know if a supplement would add to it or not. These bullies, I swear! I love Brie tho, so much n I want to what is best for her

I'm starting chum on nuvet plus at the suggestion of some EBN members. He had extreme itching and shedding from salmon oil..and the Fromms caused diarrhea that never stopped even though I transitioned it slowly..I tried all flavors too. He's the rare one that didn't do well on Fromms. Let me know how it goes lisa. You only have sample packet it would probably take more than that to see if it works though right?

I was using NuVet on Winston, and besides the tear staining he was doing great… I actually give it to Roxie too along w/the NuJoint supplement and she's like a pup again. I would say it's worth a try Lisa...

I'm thinking of trying it, just wanted some opinions.. @Chumley it's a packet that would last a cpl weeks. Might be enough time to see if she worsens from it or improves? Brie did not do so well w many from. Flavors, I thought she was ok w the beef frittata but it appears not..unless all this is from something else. @ddnene I just don't want to add to the Brie issues..lol but it looks like has decent ingredients. Is nu vet similar?

    Hi @Lisabear123

I am a dedicated NuVet user so this morning I sent an email to NuVet wanting to know a simple question, why is NuVet better than this product, NuPro? Here is what their response was:

“While NuPro is a good supplement, it does not have the synergist blend of over 30 ingredients that NuVet has. Additionally, NuVet is manufactured in an FDA registered pharmaceutical laboratory in California and all of the ingredients are sourced in the United States. This guarantees purity, consistency and most important safety for the pet. NuVet has been in business for 17 years with a perfect safety record, something the company is quite proud of. NuVet also guarantees results or the customer will get their money back.”
    Hope that helps
