Interesting. With Zeus being all white. I definitely want to know the outcome. Zeus is 2yrs and has been on blue buffalo he's in great shape minus the tear stains.. Just curious what the prize on that. (Not that it matters but good to know)

Eve...good job w/Zeus...do you give distilled or filtered water as I find it helps.

On TOTW, the large bag (I think about 40 lbs) is usually around $46-$48 for
the Bison/Venison and a little more for Salmon. I feed Cami this and have fed
a couple other of their grain free flavors as well, she does good on them, less
gas, no itchies, no eye goop, and she likes it (boar not so much). I'm on a strict
budget and it seems to be a good food for a good price.
filtered water.

I am very curious to see how this works out for you...Petunia was also on Fromm's Pork and Peas and SHE also had terrible tear staining despite wiping everyday. I switched her to Fromm's Pork and Applesauce...have not noticed much change yet but it has only been a few days on the new food.

Well, it's not conclusive yet.
But the yeasty smell has gone away.
His eyes are clearing but still tearful.
He seems to be doing a bit better on TOTW though.
I'm going to tr the following in addition to the food change:
1. Bottled water
2. Gold Bond
3. Maybe some Desitin as a last resort (a very small amount as it contains zinc according to vet Liedecker).

Meanwhile, here's some pictures from today.
Walley-Bubba will be 1-year old on the 28th!

That is very promising, but keep in mind, it take about a month to get old food out so it cold be even better for him in a couple more weeks.

Love the pictures

I think you will see a constant improvement. Sherman tried 4 different foods. He is on the same TOW as you are giving your guy. No tear stains, healthy, and no recent health issues. I also give him filtered water only. He has a nice clear white face. Think you made a good choice,

FYI, bottled water is not always filtered and could have contaminants.
Filtered is better or for tear stains, distilled water is best. Let us know :)

Look forward to your review of this kibble
Ace is on Merricks Whole Earth Farms and has little to no staining but as with any kibble I guess they eventually get tired of the same thing so I mix up portions of other kibble from time to time [with about 70% WEF and 30% or so of different Fromm blends] and have never tried TOTW but if you get good results I may add some of that to his kibble mix as well.

I just moved over from Fromm Beef Fritatta to Pork and Peas with my guys. Emma and Sally's tear staining is horrible. While the redness in Emma's face has disappeared, her tear stains have turned darker and more watery. I was just looking at Merricks too but not in depth. I'm going to have get get Emma allergy tested soon as I'm tired of playing the guessing game on what she may or may not be sensitive and/or allergic too. I also only use filtered water for the house bowl. All outside water is gone now due to freezing so now I know it's not the water.

Still a bit inconclusive but the yeasty smell has completely disappeared.
He managed to get a hold of a stuffed toy on Friday and ate half of the stuffing - trailed a long string of it out his rear on Saturday morning - it's all good now though.
Been feeding him the TOTW and also Crystal Guyser Alpine Spring Water (not distilled/purified but it's all we have and probably better than city tap water).
Also got some Earthbath Grooming wipes which sure smell nice and which we use to keep him moo wrinkles clean - they are alot ore convenient than the face cloths I had been using.

Glad his yeasty smell has gone away. That's one thing I've never had with mine, yet that is. I'm 2 weeks on the Pork & Peas. The water eyes and bad tear staining in still there for all three but really bad for Emma and Sally. I've had them on 3 different foods now. It think it's finally time (and Emma's almost 2 now) to have her allergy tested like I did Wilson and Jack. It's so hard playing the guessing game.

Even once they stop producing yeast, the stains can last for a while. Lucy had a horrendous yeast bloom last summer. I got it cleared up pretty quickly but she still has some of the reddish staining on the fur around her eyes and mouth. It's gradually going away as the hair grows out and new hair grows in but it's still visible and she hasn't had any new yeast in over two months.

Still improving with the TOTW, Spring Water and Earthbath Grooming wipes twice a day.
But the improvement is going more slowly now.
Wiping the wrinkles is sometimes clean, sometimes lightly stained brown.

I also tried a little Gold Bond medicated powder which seemed to help.

I had also tried a little Desitin by Vet Liedecker cautioned against it saying it contains zinc oxide which is toxic for dogs.

Yeah, WB can easily reach the top of the counter now so don't leav any human food too close to the edge LOL

Almost forgot to provide my weekly update.
So here he is, WB at the EB meetup at Crissy Fields, SF last weekend.
The tear stain problem is still improving slowly.
I wipe his wrinkles twice a day and the wipes are usually clean with a couple of boogers ;)
He gets fed a 1-cuo scoop of TOTW twice a day and fresh, purified water changed daily.
Everything else is fine as far as I can tell.
