Some people say a dog is active if they walk an hour a day. Does that apply to bulldogs too?

I loose leash walk my 5 month puppy an hour a day. At the park, he's a wrestler, not a chaser. Indoors, sleeps like a log. Can I call him active? Should I stay away from high protein food? I'm under the impression he'll get fat if he's not active enough.

He does not need to walk that much, and if it is warm outside I sure would not walk him that much. I would stay away from high protein food. One with 27% to 29% is enough.

there is nothing wrong with a high protein food long as your dog is active and a puppy should be active enough. i worry with this as they get older as they dont play as much. personally i dont think its the protein that the problem but the fat and calories that come with these high protein foods. lower protein foods have lower fat and calories. i have found that 27 to 35 is a pretty good range for a dog that age.
