Default Earthborn Holistics Meadow Feast and yeast?

Lucy has started having yeast issues, no itchy paws or anything, but a full blown yeast bloom in her face wrinkles and under the tail. I'm thinking it was because of the hot, humid weather because it was in the high 90s here for a few weeks but I wanted to make sure it wasn't the food.

She's been eating the Meadowfeast Lamb and has being doing great on it. No itching, no stomach issues. Is there anything in it that might contribute to yeast overgrowth?

Ideally there would be an easy answer to this but every bully is different so you never know if it's a food thing or a weather thing or an environmental thing that causes yeast issues.

In my experience, foods like Earthborn, which do not have potatoes and sweet potatoes are typically not the causes of yeast problems. That said, both of my bullies didn't do very well on it even though it had VERY similar ingredients to what I used before and now, which is Nature's Variety Instinct.

I would see how the yeast is now that the weather isn't as bad and make sure you are keeping the affected areas clean and dry. If it doesn't seem to be getting any better you might consider changing to a different food that has an alternative source of protein and/or starch.

Oh here we go again, I switched Vegas to this food from Natures Variety Instinct Salmon, he did WONDERFUL for about 8 months, now I am dealing with his second yeast infection with his face in the last two months. It just feels like every time I switch foods he does great for months then not so great. I thought I found the answer with this food, but not looking like it now. I am thinking about switching back to NVI to see if I see an improvement. It is just never ending here trying to find the right food.

I'm right with you, Kelly...I switched Cami from Fromm's Chicken a la Veg because we sleep
together and her farts were disgusting! Put her on TOTW Bison & Venison since she didn't
have allergies, I was told. Now, she's chewing her paws & looks yeasty in face *sigh*
Guess I'm putting her on Fromm's Pork & Peas (HAHAHA, I had to correct spelling, I typed
    PORN & Peas

could just be the weather both those areas would be prime places for yeast as it likes warm wet places. keeping the area dry is essential. if you have some duoxo pads i would use those to clean the area and then perhaps some powder to keep it dry. if no duoxo you can use any anti fungal such as lotrimin or clotrimazole. lotrimin or desenex are powders made for yeast you could use after the cream. could be the food but ive come to think it has to do alot with your pets allergies to whats in the food. if your pet isnt allergic to anything in the food then no yeast if so then you get yeast. you could also give a probiotic to help boost the immune system and fight the yeast. keep your pet as cool as possible but not wet. if this does not clear up or gets worse in a few days i will recommend a different food if you wish.

So, I did a week's worth of anti-fungal cream and the actual reddish brown stuff that used to come off when I wiped the area is now gone but inside the face wrinkles is still reddish brown, sort of a brick color. Is that staining? Or does that mean the yeast is still there?

Sigh, the roller coaster continues. Now she has redness around her mouth and on her legs and paws and she's licking. I've heard that they can have an allergic reaction to the yeast on their body. Is that likely? Or should I just assume it's the food?

In Lucy's case, I noticed a reddish brown substance on the wipe when I cleaned her nose wrinkles and tail area.
