Went to get some more Evo Chicken & Turkey today.
But they didn't have any in stock.
Apparently, it's been recalled.
Research indicates this is true:
http://www.dogfoodadvisor.com/dog-food-recall/natura-pet-expands-recall/

Had no choice but to get another brand.
Nature's Valley Instinct Grain Free was selected.
So far, so good, WB cleaned the bowl.

The store was nice enough to give me a free can of pumpkin and a 10% discount on the food.

WB has done really well on the EVO since he was weaned.
We can only hope he does as well on the new food.
If the new food works out, it's highly unlikely we will go back to Evo food again.
We need a reliable source for our dog food.
We all know how sensitive English Bulldogs are to food changes.

Here is Walley-Bubba a month ago at 4-1/2 months learning from Shadow the 8 year old master.

He's adorable!!!!
Thank you.
We are very happy with the way he looks.
He is really a sweat dog now.
Especially since the biting has subsided more or less.

Thanks for the info.
Yes, it is scary.

EVO was always a superior food for dogs.
But this apparently started with their cat food.
I guess they had to recall all of it.
Dog, Cat and other brands too.
Perhaps they make it all in the same factory.
Am suspiscious about Corporate America (P&G).

Do you have an opinion about the alternative food we chose?
Nature's Valley Instinct Grain Free Chicken Meal.
We are not comfortable with "Meal".
Thanks.

Starkie well nvi is a great food n works for a lot of bullies. i have used it myself. will it work for u i dunno. well there is alot of speculation about meals in dog food. would probably be best not in there but then that leaves you with just meat which once the water is gone doesnt leave much so they say. well then they load the food with lots of other protein boosters so is there a real advantage. honestly i think it lies with the company as to how good the "meals" are. i dont think much of p&g and was very saddened when they sold that food to them. i like to see real meat with the meals but it doesnt always work out that way.

Thank you. Yes, we were a bit uncomfortable with the mere mention of the term "meal" in the "NVI Chicken Meal Formula". But the GA checks out:
Crude Protein (min): 42.0% - same as EVO.
Carbs not listed.
Calories are 490 per cup - Evo is 537.0 kcal/cup.

Here's the full description:
http://www.naturesvariety.com/Instin...kibble/chicken

And the calories are a little lower than the Evo Chicken and Turkey that Walley-Bubba has grown up on. At 5 months, he weighs 46 lbs so maybe it is time to cut back from 3 cups to a little less. Not that he's fat - he's just a big puppy and always has been.

Anyway, the NVI seems to be working out great so far with no side effects and WB seems to like it too, especially with the salmon oil and vitamins. I may just open the can of pumpkin to give him a treat, not that it's really necessary since there is not loose stools at all...it would be just a change of pace for the little guy.

Well, good news, the new food (NVI Chicken Meal Formula) is working out great.
Perfect poops and they don't stink half as bad as with the EVO food that he was getting.
And Walley Bubba usually cleans the bowl each time we feed him cup of NVI three times a day.
Maybe we will cut back a bit after he's spayed.
But he's still growing and at 6 months, doing OK at 48lbs with a waist line.
We plan to leave him on the
NVI Chicken Meal Formula.
That's despite our initial concern with the "meal" GA nomenclature on the GA.
Thanks for your help CowsMom.

Thanks girls, can only hope the food helps somebody else.

Shadow (Yorkie) is off at the groomers for the day.
So we decided today is the first day that WB at 6 mos has had free run of the entire house.
Only one accident so far - he was soooo excited at being petted by my Ann, can't be mad at him for that.
Hoping it works out when "his nibs" aka Shadow returns home later today.
You know how honorary those terriers can get.
It's an interesting challenge for us.
A bully who never gives up versus a Yorkies who we call Donkey Dog for a reason due to his stubborness!
