Sally - my Angel
Used for breeding, you produced.
Year after year you produced,
until you could produce no more.
Left to wonder I did, all those years you were used,
used for breeding , how many did you produce?
Used for breeding , you produced.
Were you touched? Were you loved?
Touched you were, and loved you were,
by all those many babies you produced.
Used for breeding , you produced.
Left at the shelter you were…..why oh why,
because you got old and could not produce.
Left to a life unknown, a life with no touch, a life of no love,
from the only life you once knew, a life that produced.
Used for breeding , you produced.
Where did you come from I asked myself?
It didn’t matter really, because now you could no longer produce.
One sunny day in May, I scooped you up,
to a life now filled with endless touch and love!
Why did you come to us I asked myself?
Why? Because you were used for breeding and could not produce.
No longer needed to produce,
you were left to a life of uncertainty.
You produced and you were used, but now,
YOU are needed, YOU are touched and YOU are loved - for life!
And no longer are you used for breeding to produce.

I love your sweetness, it has no end.
I love your face.
I love your eyes, they are more human than most humans.
I love how you talk with your ears.
I love how you swing your head and body when you're happy.
I love your little stump tail.
I love the spots on your ears.
I love your mustache.
I adore your tongue, it's always hanging out.
I adore how you lay on top of toys to protect them with your wight so I cant get them.
I love your perfectly round spots on your body.
I love how expressive you are with your face.
I love it when you wave at me.
I adore when you reach out to me with your foot, stretching so far that you're trembling.
I love how your feet puffs out when you walk.
It amazes me how clever you are.
I love how funny your eyes look when you yawn.
I love when you lay on your back and roll around out of happiness while barking.
I love it when you "rabbit".
I love how you fold beds double to make them extra soft.
I love how you collect soft stuff to make a nice bed.
I love your love for the sun... and the soil...
It's funny how the only part of your body you can reach to clean is your front feet.
I love how helpful you are when I clean your face.
I love how you sit and look at me with your puffy feet while I make food.
I love the evil eye look you give me when you're not happy with something I've done, like ear cleaning, claw clipping or baths.
I admire that you're fearless.
You are my first real rescue, you opened my eyes to reality and for that I will be forever thankful<3
I love you Joey
You were born with the ability to change someone's life, don't ever waste it.
My sincerest apologies for those trying to enter the contest that were receiving a closed thread message. This has been fixed now!
I know I’m smaller than my brother
But that doesn’t mean I can’t protect my mother
You might think I’m a meanie
Just ‘cuz I bit your weenie
If you really got to know me
you’d see my true personality
I’m brave, yet sweet
I’m feisty and fast on my feet
But most of all…
I’m Finn, the one my momma calls
the misunderstood one.
To a very special Bully
Hooch, I remember the day our eyes met
I knew our hearts bonded, on that you can bet
you arrived with your neck scarf
coming straight from your bath
with your toys in a basket
your antics made me laugh
the first thing you did
was check out your yard
and I knew, that you knew, life wouldn't be hard
your mom and me talked
as we watched you settle in
I knew she was happy
I could tell by her grin
as we watched you explore
and play king of the mountain
then jump on the bench
and nap by the fountain
she was able to leave you
knowing full well
you would be lovingly cared for
this she could tell
I thanked her for choosing me
I knew her heart was hurtin
but her job made her travel
life isn't always certain
Cheyenne also loved you
you two became good friends
who knew that in three months
her life would come to an end
you remained by her side
when she could no longer rise
you knew her time was coming Bully
how could you be so wise
we grieved together for awhile
but both of us still missed her
It's when I knew deep in my heart
you needed another dog sister
so entered Sadie, to help with our loss
you sniffed her, then marked her,
you showed her who's boss
you loved her, and groomed her
and slept by her side
until she outweighed you
and began to turn the tide
but you taught her to respect you
in spite of her size
just as you respected Cheyenne
because you are so wise
I love you my dear Bully
I have loved you from the start
and thank God everyday
for putting you in my heart
My poem is a little different this year. To the special folks with bully children:
Owners of Bullies
Owners of Bullies are very special people; they don’t own much, and their lives are a sequel;
Of common events that would destroy most other people.
Their children are perpetual two year olds that never grow up; with names quite common as Tank, Hank or Chuck.
They are quite unique in fashion and mystic; they run around with hair on them from their head down to their feet.
These bullies are their children whom they love and adorn, and there always seems to be room for……just one more.
There is never a dull moment with a bully in the house, they just aren’t as quiet as that little church mouse.
Bullies seek and destroy in their avenue of approach; a shoe, a door or even that purse made by Coach.
It takes that special owner to look at this breed; to see and feel a commitment, and have the heart that they need.
You see, Bullies are forever in the hearts that they hold; and most people in this world just aren’t quite that bold.
But…Bully owners are special; just as special as the breed, they love with commitment and that you will see:
In the eyes of the bullies that they have come to love; there is no deeper commitment unless seen from above.
They never think twice about the money they need; to bring pleasure and life, to this very special breed.
The owners of a bullies are indeed a rare breed! A bully and their owner is a show you must see!

I admit I'm not the best writer but here it goes!
My One & Only
Tank, I loved you from the start.
When I saw your wrinkled face,
I knew I had lost my heart.
I watched you play to no end and grow each day,
Wondering when you'd tire of play.
I call you my son,
that much is true
Even though others think differently of you.
To me, you aren't just a "dog".
There's more to that face.
Deep down in my heart,
it's you I can never replace.
It's been six years with you,
snoring and hogging the bed each night.
But I wouldn't trade a moment of it,
because to have you is a delight.
Some people think of me crazy,
even quite strange,
When I call you my fur baby
and that will never change.
I wish I could show you,
how much you are loved.
The things you do to make me smile,
are all the above!

Our Precious Lola
Our family is now complete
You shine in our world
You are ever so sweet
Lola you are our precious joy
you make us smile and laugh
when you bring us your bottle toy
O Lola girl you are so fresh and new
the puppy breath and wrinkles
casts away the days stress and blues
Looking forward to the years ahead
with you being with us
and being part of the joy and love you will spread
such a beautiful girl bully.
