Mercedes may not go at top speeds anymore, but just like the luxury car, she needs and deserves some proper love and TLC from her new forever family!A seven-year-old bullie, Miss Mercedes is going to transition seamlessly into any home. Housetrained? Check! Sweet? Check! Laidback? Check! Adorable? Double check! There really isnā€™t a more typical bullie than Mercedes. She operates at one speed most of the time, and that one speed is, shall we say, not fast. She loves her sleep and her food and isnā€™t inclined to expend too much energy on much of anything else! She is open to taking a leisurely stroll with the emphasis on leisurely ā€“ clearly a fenced-in yard is not a requirement!Mercedes is super smart, though. She knows ā€œsitā€ and ā€œpawā€ and because sheā€™s perfectly housetrained, she doesnā€™t need to be crated when left alone. Just give her a soft bed and sheā€™s all set! She gets along well with other dogs and would be great around younger children, too, because she is so low energy. Mercedes is currently living with a seven-year-old and four-year-old in her foster home and has done great! Her foster mom believes sheā€™d be fine with cats, too, because there really isnā€™t much that bothers her!Mercedes suffers from a few typical bullie issues that require routine care. She takes medicated baths on an as-needed basis for her skin (roughly twice a week) and needs Epsom salt soaks for her paws when they get a bit inflamed. She requires an ear flush twice a week and medication once a day; her ears are stenotic, and her ear canal is pretty closed up, so itā€™s possible her hearing isnā€™t 100 percent. Her eyes get medicated drops and artificial tears twice a day and she also currently receives Cytopoint injections for her itchies; she gets the injection every 3-8 weeks depending on when her allergies start to act up.While she is a naturally slow girl, she is also being given daily glucosamine/joint treats to ensure her joints stay as pain-free as possible. Mercedes can do stairs but not well, so a home with minimal stairs would be ideal. She is fine home alone during the day, but she certainly wouldnā€™t argue against a mid-day check-in. Sheā€™d also make a great co-worker, as long as you donā€™t mind her sleeping on the job!Mercedes is an all-around sweet girl who needs a forever home dedicated to loving her and maintaining her daily care. She just loves to be around her people and cannot wait to settle in with her forever family!
