Are you looking for a dog who loves life and wants to share that love with you? Meet Rocco! Fifty-six pounds of pure bulldog, Rocco is a happy, energetic and handsome dog looking for the perfect forever home.
Rocco, who just five years old, is one of the most fun bullies you'll meet! You know that kid from high school who just never quite grew up? That's Rocco! Described as a "clown" and goof by his foster family, he is sure to bring his forever home lots of laughs.
Rocco has no real sense of how big he really is and likes to play with lots of enthusiasm! For that reason he should go to a home with children no younger than 16 and with dogs that are his size or bigger. In fact, he gets along famously with the mastiff in his foster home.
Rocco is a bulldog which means he's stubborn; but that also means he's very food-motivated! He knows basic obedience commands and while he's not afraid to use his voice, he also knows the command for "quiet." Rocco becomes quiet more quickly when there's a treat involved, of course! Rocco is house trained and there has never been a need to crate him, but his family should be sure to continue working with Rocco on basic obedience. He has no health issues, is neutered and up-to-date on all his shots.
Rocco is a cuddler, of course, and is not much for walks. Rocco love car rides, especially when they include trips to the magic window!
Ideally Rocco's new home will have a fenced-in backyard and limited steps, as he's boycotted using the steps at his foster home. While no dog, including Rocco, would turn down a situation in which his humans worked from home, he currently does fine with a midday check-in, since his foster humans work outside the home.
Because of his tendency to roughhouse, combined with his stubbornness, Rocco would likely do best in a bulldog-experienced home. Rocco gets along well with other dogs and his foster home believes he'd likely do well with cats. A home in a quiet suburban or rural setting would fit Rocco best.
If you should be lucky enough to adopt Rocco, be prepared for him to put his bully face right in yours and demand pets, cuddles and attention. But who could deny his sweet face any of those things?
Rocco is currently being fostered in Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada.
