Herman has had Great Plains Feast (which contains lamb, as an FYI) and Primitive Natural. He loves both but is possibly allergic to the lamb in Great Plains, so he's on Primitive Natural now. Also, the Great Plains Feast kibble bits are a little large. I think the Primitive Natural is easier for him to chew, but it has about 38% protein. The company is very responsive as well and always willing to answer your questions via email or on their FaceBook page.

How old was Herman when you switched? Was he on Fromm puppy?

I switched him to Great Plains when he was about 5 months - he was on Eukanuba Pure Puppy. Then a month later, switched him to the Primitive Natural. I contacted Earthborn and they say the grain-free food is fine for all life stages.

I just bought the Coastal Catch today- I'm hoping my dog-kids do well on this. They were previously on Premium Edge, which has been great for my other dogs. But, the EBD that we recently rescued has quite a few special needs, so I figured getting him on a premium food was the best thing to do....my other dogs will reap the benefits, too!

We use Earthborn Meadowfeast. One of the few potato-free, grain free foods. (Our guy is allergic to white potato!)
