The following before & after photos are from Georgia English Bulldog Rescue. We saw these photos on facebook and were amazed at the recovery these beautiful bulldogs made. We contacted them immediately to see if we could share their story with our family at English Bulldog News.
Meet Steely
Steely. A scared, thin little boy who had been living outside for most of his life. He's now happy and healthy thanks to his foster mom and dad, Jennifer and Emory. Steely will be undergoing reconstructive surgery at the University of Georgia Vet School.

Meet Boo
Boo, a sweet boy with lots of skin problems. Joseph and Chris fostered this boy and did a fantastic job returning him to the handsome fellow that he was supposed to be.

Meet Daisy
Daisy, our first real challenge. She was fostered by Frances and Mike. Frances put her heart and soul into rehabing Daisy. These 2 girls have a special bond that couldn't be broken. Frances and her husband adopted Daisy in December.

Meet Gracie
Gracie, a true lady. Her chest and front legs covered in mange and caked with layers of dirt and blood. It took several baths to see the beauty below the grime. Thanks to Milissa, her foster mom, Gracie is well and now has a new home with Don and Barbara in Atlanta.

Meet Clementine
Clementine. My sweet little emergency on a Tuesday afternoon. Thank God you survived until I got you to the hospital sweetheart. It's been a long road and we still have a distance to go, but you are one beautiful bullie. You have the best personality, my pixie. So glad your owners called me and so glad I've been able to give you your life back.

Meet Twiggy
Twiggy. The best dog in the world. She's probably Olde English but I didn't care after I saw a picture of her. I couldn't let her suffer. You were my couch Queen. You have a new home with the most wonderful family. If they love you half as much as we did, you are in for one special life.

Meet Spike
Spike. Poor little guy was found as a stray, posted on Craigslist and picked up by one of our volunteers. Spike was thin, scared, reactive and in terrible pain. Spike had a ruptured left eye on arrival to rescue. After days of antibiotics he underwent surgery to remove the eye. Spike was fostered and then adopted by Joseph and Chris. Spike in undergoing training to break a few bad habits and is a completely different dog.

Meet Isabella
Isabella was a 9 month old female who had a rough start in life. She was the product of an amateur breeding operation and summarily neglected by the three homes she was in during her short life. FINALLY, a kind family took her in. Seeing that she needed medical attention, they called GEBR a few hours after she arrived. Within hours, Izzy was transferred to our vet and treatment was begun. Izzy is now happy and healthy in her furever home in PA.

Meet Chunk
Chunk is a layed back 4 year old male found stray in Columbus, GA. He had multiple skin issues and ear infections along with bilateral entropion. Chunk is a fantastic, low key boy...we're amazed that someone just let him roam. With good food and antibiotics his skin improved quickly. He is now in his forever home in Sugar Hill, GA

Meet Sophie, Kong and Bridgette
Sophie is a 5 year old female, surrendered with Kong and Bridgette. Although Sophie didn't look too bad on the outside, her insides were a mess. Sophie lived in a mud hole for most of her life, bred at every opportunity. Her last delivery at the puppymill was difficult and the owner was advised not to breed her again. Fortunately she was cute and petite and another wanted to purchase her (see Kong's story). She was sold without telling the new owners that she should never be bred again. BUT, when she got to her new home it quickly became apparent that she was already pregnant. Unaware of her potential difficulties during pregnancy, the owners were searching for a vet on a Sunday afternoon to do an emergency c-section on a dog who was trying to die on them. They did find a vet to do the surgery, the vet who told her original owner never to breed her again. Sophie nearly lost her life, she did lose her 2 pups. Sophie underwent a complicated spay surgery, even more complicated by pyometra. She beat the odds several times and survived. She is now a pampered princess in her forever home with the director of GEBR.

Kong is a 4 year old male. Kong and his "friends" resided in a puppymill in SC. His surrendering owners had dreams of becoming breeders and visited the puppymill to purchase "breeding stock". Appalled at the conditions these dogs lived in, they vowed not to leave there without several of the dogs in their care. They left with 2 males and 2 female (see Bridgette and Sophie)...quickly depleteing their savings trying to get these dogs healthy, they made the call to GEBR. On arrival Kong had mange, was emaciated and his little body was riddled with infection. After an extended stay at the vets he was transferred to a foster home where he relaxed and gained weight. He is now in his forever home in NC, his forever name is Deuce. He spends his days relaxing and being pampered, along with his sister Hershey.

Bridgette is a 7 year old female, surrendered along with Kong and Sophie. Bridgettes recovery has been delayed due to SEVERE ear infection and an emergency spay for pyometra. She is still in foster care but anxiously awaiting her forever home. She has just been cleared for adoption. She's a fantastic, sweet natured girl.

Meet Munson
Munson is an 18 month old male, surrendered the Humane Society in Savannah, GA. On arrival his ears were so infected, he would have an anxiety attack whenever they were touched for treament. His skin was terribly infected and crusted from irritation. Despite his discomfort he had a sweet temperment and is a joy to be around. Have several weeks of treatment, Munson is now in his forever home in Winder, GA. He has 2 young boys to keep him company and fulfill his every dream.

Meet Ginger
Ginger is a 2 year old female. Ginger apparently was not a stranger to our local animal control facility. She was a guest there last year and was "adopted" by one of the animal control officers. One year later and now an "ex" animal control officer, He brought Ginger back to the pound to suffer the fate of an "owner surrender". GEBR was called. Ginger's skin was in terrible condition from poor quality dog food. Her ears was closed with infection and scar. After extended treatment, Ginger is now in her forever home with her new brother Spike (GEBR Alumnus). Doesn't she look happy?
