You can donate directly to SCBR by visiting their website:

Southern California Bulldog Rescue provides shelter, re-homing assistance, and funds for medical treatment for over 100 bulldogs each year. These dogs come to us from animal shelters, other rescue groups, and owners who wish to surrender their purebred bulldogs. We help bulldogs in the Southern California area find suitable homes. Our network consists of many volunteers who foster, do home checks, transport, and place bulldogs who come into our program. Over 400 bulldogs have been placed thru rescue in Southern California during the last 5 years. We rely entirely on donations for support.

The mission of Southern California Bulldog Rescue is to rehabilitate and find loving families for homeless bulldogs. Our goal is to provide the care and time needed to prepare unwanted bulldogs for placement. We pledge to do our best to make sure they have a good life.

    Meet Trooper:

Trooper was rescued from the shelter after being abandoned there in deplorable condition. His case of demodex has left him mostly hairless. He's got horrible ear infections and will need one of his eyes removed due to neglect. We'll never understand how someone can do this to an innocent creature. Trooper needs a lot of care and medical attention; you can bid for this boy or contribute to his care directly at socalbulldogrescue.org.

    From Trooper's Foster Mom, Tami:

Hi, My name is Tami, and I am Trooper's foster mom. He is a great dog, about 9 months old. I picked him up from the shelter, where I found him bald from mange, scabs on his head, severely overgrown toenails, infected ears and an eye that was protruding out and needed to be removed - and a few days after I got him home, he came down with a case of kennel cough.

Poor baby was sitting in his kennel at the shelter, where he looked sad, lonely, and confused. And almost everyone walked by him with a look of horror on their faces, but no one wanted to touch him. You should've seen the looks I got as I reached my hand into the fence of the kennel (something you are not supposed to do) to touch him and tell him I love him and that I would be back for him as soon as his hold period was up. One lady stopped to ask questions, but she couldn't find the courage to touch him. Broke my heart. And as I said goodbye to him and promised him I'd be back, I looked down and saw my fingers covered in goo from his ear infections that were dripping down the side of his head.

But Trooper has come a long way in the short time he's been with us. He has hair coming back in, his ear infections are gone, his toenails have been trimmed, and he got neutered and his eye removed at the same time. He has bounced back and adjusted to life as a one-eyed guy with no problems at all. I tell him how handsome he is and that the girls will dig him because he is always winking at them.

    Meet Muffin:

Muffin was dumped at the shelter by her "owners" simply because she has a nasty, open and wet tumor hanging off her side.

Muffin's huge tumor did not happen overnight. It probably took years to develop and could have been removed sooner and treated much easier than now. Thanks to the wonderful teamwork of the volunteers of SCBR, Muffin is safe!

Please help and bid for bullies like Trooper and Muffin at SCBR!
