My Ryleigh Mae has developed a large ugly bald spot on her side. It started a few months ago and I have no idea how to get the hair to grow back. Someone suggested giving her a fish oil pill daily and also to apply regular lotion to the area daily. I have done this for 2 months now and no progress. This is so extremely frustrating..does anyone have some suggestions?? Please help!!😢

It sounds like it could be Seasonal Flank Alopecia. It is very common in bulldogs, harmless, and there are loads of threads on here about it. A photo will help us know. My Monty has it and I give him 3 mg of melatonin a day. Natures Bounty is supposed to be the best. This is the second time Monty has had it but in some dogs it doesnt go away completely.

Agree... SFA. As mentioned melatonin my not work- give some time to see and if not I use 1200mg fish oil— that helped with Lambeau

This is Monty's SFA. I also give him 1200 mg Fish Oil daily. It will take time and doesn't always work but again, it is nothing to worry about. I try to get Monty in the sun for a bit before it gets hot (most important, as they overheat very quickly) in the mornings. I don't know if that really helps either but it is suggested it could. Loads of info on the internet about it.

We would love to see more pictures of her.
