As a pet owner, you want to ensure your pets stay happy and healthy for many years to come. One way to do this is by ensuring they arenít exposed to harmful products. Unfortunately, many common household cleaners can be toxic to cats and dogs. To keep your pets (and yourself) safe, consider making your own pet-friendly products with these recipes!
    Countertops

    • 2 cups of vinegar
    • 2 cups of water

    1. Combine all of the ingredients into a spray bottle
    2. Spray on your counter
    3. Wipe clean

Tip: 10 to 15 drops of tea tree oil will add to the disinfecting power of this spray!
    Floors

    • 1 part vinegar
    • 2 parts warm water

    1. Combine all of the ingredients into a bucket
    2. Apply to your floor with a rag or mop

    Toilet bowl

    • Ĺ cup of baking soda
    • 10 drops of tea tree oil
    • ľ cup of vinegar

    1. Pour the baking soda and essential oil into the toilet
    2. Add the vinegar and scrub the entire bowl

    Toilet seat

    • 1 cup of vinegar
    • 3 to 5 drops of lemon oil or tea tree oil

    1. Combine all of the ingredients into a spray bottle
    2. Spray the seat and outside surface of the toilet as needed
    3. Wipe clean

    Disinfectant

    • 2 cups of water
    • 3 tablespoons of castile soap
    • 20-30 drops of tea tree oil

    1. Combine all of the ingredients into a spray bottle
    2. Spray on any surface in need of disinfecting
    3. Wipe clean

While these DIY cleaning products are much safer than most store-bought cleaners, caution should still be practiced when using them. Ensure your floors and other surfaces have dried before letting your pets come into contact with them and store the cleaning supplies away from curious pets!
