I have a zoom groom and love mit that I have been using with Ace. Just recently also got the Furminator. Haven't used it yet and would like to know your experiences with it. After taking it out of the wrapper I noticed how sharp the combing edges are and I am a bit uncertain about using it. It seems like by feeling it that it will simply cut the hair and thin it out but perhaps that is what its designed for. My wife said she wouldn't use it on her dog nor on Ace. What is your experiences with one?

you should only run it down the back and one stroke only, and also when the dog is shedding most, or blowing their coat. It will thin out the coat if not used properly.

My Lab loves being brushed with the furminator and it works great he gets really excited when I bring it out and ask if he wants to be brushed. We follow with the zoom groom. On our bully I havent used it on him yet since he is all wrinkles I cant get a good stroke so we have to wait until he gets older and grow into his wrinkles .

We have a furminator and it does seem to work well. As stated though go with the hair not against it. The thing that seems to work best is the zoom groom using it in all directions and circular motion. But I only use it outside because so much hair comes off with it I don't want it flying all over the house. So I only use it in good weather. Right now it feels like it'll never be spring.

Yes, I have the zoom groom as well and use it like you suggest, against and with the hair, it does work well and yes I always do it outside.
Ace seems to reallly enjoy being brushed with the zoom groom and love glove.
We have a Hot tub on the patio and Ace likes to climb up on the portable steps and wait for his brushing.

I absolutely love it. I use the Zoom Groom first, then the Furminator and then a curry brush. It seems sharp but it's not at the same time. The amount of under coat it takes off of Wilson is amazing! I use it quite regularly and I do go over areas more than once where his hair is thicker. Together, all three of the grooming tools work outstanding for Wilson and Emma since they have thick coats.
