I don't know how one would go about getting some kind of law made. I guess petitioning your congressman? I sure wish I knew. I have an interview soon about Bella's EPI with the local newspaper, I am going to start planting bugs!!! I also have a very close friend who is a new reporter for the local news. If I find out info from JIA (Jax Int airport) I am going to talk this over with him...I think it would make a very interesting story!

My puppy was given to me as a gift. She was purchased from a breeder, but not a decent one. When I went to pick her up, I felt like I was abandoning her if I didn't take her due to my feelings about the breeder. Is there anywhere that you can report someone that is obviously only doing it for the money? This may be off topic, so I apologize ahead of time.

You can report to AKC if they are registered or so i've heard and if the dogs are sick or there housing looks unfit you can report to your local ASPCA

What about Matrix? I've heard some pretty unsettling things about them and I spoke with the lady and man about a deaf puppy the guy wanted 1800 for her and he told me point blank he could sell anything that people wanted his words were he could sell a left shoe and a palm tree in is back yard if someone wanted it bad enough...not verbatum. Made me sick to my stomach

You only have to search the web to learn about Matrix.

As far as reporting it. Some go to the health department in their city/county to report possible puppiy mills. I know of one that got busted through the Sheriff's office. Just getting the word out via this site and others will help. If it is an abuse concern, I would think even PETA would have ways to help.

Im sorry, I am new here, and decided to read through scams to help protect myself. I am in the process of getting my little girl, and have already done some research.. so Im not too worried about that however in the near future (as I love bullies) I will be looking to add to our family, but from a championship blood line. The info here is GREAT.. helps keep my eyes open to scams, but I do want to touch on something. Bella's mom mentioned getting information about people who are importing. This is the thing.. normally, that information is private.. I mean, if I went to the UK, and I purchased 4 Bullies from a reputable breeder, to improve the breed here, the people I am dealing with had BETTER keep my information private. If you came to me with media and people harassing me because I imported without knowing anything about me or the dogs I brought to this country, and my life was turned upside down because you and someone who worked for the airport violated MY privacy.. I would launch a serious lawsuit against that airport and you.. I understand your concerns.. and I agree there is a concern.. but If my info is out there, it will be because I want it to be.. as a breeder... If I were to import, I would state flat out where they came from, but to seek my information in the manner you are doing.. you could cause good people grief that they dont need.. and I find that to be wrong. Sorry but I guess I am playing devils advocate here.. It may have to do with the fact that I have been stalked since 2001, and my life has been wrongfully turned upside down by some nut job in Florida who I have never met.. and never dealt with. To make sure you understand, I do NOT breed dogs.. this person was just someone in a chat room who I guess didnt like someone I was chatting with... *shrugs*.. Ive long since stopped talking in chat rooms due to this.. but fact is.. for no good reason what so ever, this woman has put me through some serious drama.. thats not only caused me to fear for my kids lives, but put my marriage at risk..

I hope you understand what I am saying here... I dont know how you are obtaining this information Legally... If it is public information, then it should be information you can obtain without the help of someone who works there.. (inside job).

I dont want to rock a boat here.. and like I said, I know I am new.. but that just didnt set right with me ..good breeder or bad.. using someone to gain that type of information could result in a fat law suit..

With that said, maybe something can be passed if its not being already, that all imported English bulls must be registered as they come into the country.. a public list or some sort.. Again, its possible it would never be passed as it is pretty much a violation of privacy.. but it doesnt hurt to ask..

We aren't talking about a single puppy or two. We are talking about those that import 10,15 etc. they bring them in the states, slap on a fake AKC paper and sell them for a profit as a "champion line" puppy. It has to stop and I can tell by your Bully passion that you would agree. These fake litters are being mixed in with the general population and because of this is also bringing in medical concerns. Like we mention in many posts if you are looking for a puppy, then research your Breeder.

Importing a mass of puppies is not any better than Puppy Mills and Back Yard Breeders. If you research the Internet you will find there are investigators watching out for these importers and fighting the system.

I am sure you have no worries with bringing in a puppy. But just like here in the US,research the breeder very carefully. My Bella had AKC paperwork with a nice line (bought her as a pet) however through research (some by me some by others who have gotten ripped off and some by media) I found out all her paperwork is fake

Now a days I would be more worried about privacy with cell phones and apps then getting a puppy from an overseas breeder

Good luck with the puppy and please share with us your babies. This site is great and you can find out a lot of information

Still, that might be a violation of privacy... you need to look into that before your friend starts doing illegal things.. that would make you no better then the person importing and selling those puppies.. I used me as an example.. of course I would look into getting my dogs from rep breeders... Id also know a lot more before I did so.. but were talking a matter of personal information that I dont think they are going to approve of being shared. Its like when you sign up for something, and they ask you to tick the box to share your information with their affiliates or sponsors.. if you dont want spam or to have that info shared, you dont tick it and they are not allowed to share it.. if you find out they did, you could actually go after them. Its the same with people ..

Im going to give you an odd example.. (and only because its an item that someone might not want people to know about).. . say I open an online adult store under an alias.. however, I have to import stock for my online store... So, I get a huge shipment of .. ok, lets say unmentionables.. now, I can easily mask who I am online, hide my info with privacy guards.. but there only safety in shipping is my right to privacy when dealing with a company.. they are not allowed to share my information with other companies or individuals without my signed consent.. Now.. I get the shipment, and because there is a church out there fighting anything adult related online..I start getting calls and being harassed.. seems the church has a friend in the shipping department of this airport and because my stuff was in customs and had to be declared, the worker saw what was in the containers and reported it back to this person, breaking my confidentiality.

do you see where Im going with this? Yes I agree, its wrong.. but look into the laws and if obtaining this information is going to put your friend out of a job and open up a lawsuit.. If what your friend is doing is illegal, they will lose their job and be in a world of trouble along side of the airport it happened at.

Im not trying to be difficult.. but I have dealt with a lot of privacy issues.. and its not something you want to subject your friend to if its not legal.. I personally feel that just as sex offenders have to register... so should anyone bringing in a large amount of animals.. more then "THIS AMOUNT" of puppies, cats, sugar gliders, etc. Then its intent to sell, anything less and they should have to sign legal documents which states that it is a pet they intend on keeping and agree that the pet will be in their home (unable to be sold or given away) for a length of time. Of course the privacy of those who sign the pet only docs would be kept private, and not have to be registered on a public venue.

It might not keep everyone from doing something wrong, but they would have to really go out of their way to get around it.. if it costs them more money and more agitation, they are less likely to do it..

As you can see I made mention "if public record". I would never ask them to do something against the law or a risk to do their job. This conversation was quite a while ago and the "breeder" has already been exposed by our local news. It isn't against the law to import, even though I think it should be , however it is against the law to sell imported puppies under the age of 5 months. My Bella was said to be 9 weeks. Her health certificate was off by a couple weeks. Now looking back and putting 2 and 2 together she was most Likely about 6 weeks. Under those circumstances, yes I believe the info should be public record, a law is involved. I think all should know who receives imported puppies and have them all registered so selling ages can be documented

It is not illegal to sell adult toy items, however let's say you had a underground store that sold drugs.... If you shipped them, don't you think your privacy right is compromised by shipping illegal drugs? Once caught even your photo will be on display.

I fully agree, and Im glad they were exposed.. there are reasons for the laws they set. The only time I think importing an animal from another country is ok, is if the person is going to breed them to improve lines, and ONLY if the dog/s in question are from a healthy line, and NOT more then say 3 dogs at any given time. I dont believe Bulls should be on long flights like that.. to me, its a bit cruel unless they are in the cabin with you.. and even then.. its not nice.

Well, it was the point.. its not illegal to import, but the way I read it, you were getting the info on these people when they imported.. (which is before they sold the pups).. you cant assume someone is going to do wrong, even though these people did.. As far as adult toys being legal.. believe it or not, there are places in the US that have some strange laws.. so I wouldnt doubt that some where, here in the good ol USA, there is a ban on adult toys.. normally in a strict bible belt area.

Good thing is, I dont sell adult toys.. LOL.. so I dont have to worry about it.. Now, if I could only get my metaphysical shop open and going without anyone throwing a brick painted like a bible through my window, that would be a great thing.. LOL

I think a lot of major airlines stopped flying Smoochie faces about a year ago. Not sure if it was all airlines. They can be in cabins if escorted and within a weight/size limit. I had friends fly up to Minnesota just to pick up their cocker spaniel puppy, thought at that time it was crazy, but now I understand.
