*ok its that time again to talk about my baby girl miss sarah.

ok its that time again to talk about my baby girl miss sarah.

well we are laying in bed sleeping bf and i and she gets up and i know she wants me to get up. usually she has to go outside but when i start to get up she flings herself backwards onto the bed and all i can do is scratch her belly and laugh my a$$ off at her. she is so silly.

ok so here we are. i finally got her food in the vital essentials nibblets. oh wow its small hard balls like kibble just what i was looking for. she loves her canned dont get me wrong but when its all your eating and you are used to crunching something well she would look at me and say wheres the rest. i would give her eggs or hamburger and she was better but still missing something. well i started it on saturday just a few pieces that morning to try. here is whats in it.
Ingredients:Beef, beef tripe, beef lung, ground beef bone, beef liver, beef heart, beef kidney, beef blood, beef fat, herring oil (natural source of vitamin D), mixed tocopherols (natural antioxidant) d-alpha tocopherol (natural vitamin E)

still i have to test it and see if any allergies. well she did well with that just some gas. well i gave her 1/4 cup with her canned that night and she was fine just some gas which is to be expected with a raw food. so ive continued on with 1/4 cup to see how she does and shes fine and the gas is gone so i upped it to 1/3 cup this morning. all seems well and no gas. woohoo. she has almost all of her hair on her back just a small spot left. her tp hair is almost all grown in. her paws are whats left to heal up. im still doing her baths twice a week but i have switched to mal-a-ket shampoo from chloraseb and she seems better with it so thats what we will use from now on till she gets better. im planning on upping her raw food till we get to 1/2 cup and 1/2 can of daves and see how she does. cant afford to feed it exclusively but will mix the 2. i have noticed that she is sleeping through the night again. oh she was getting me up at 3 and 4 as she was hungry just eating canned food. i would up her quantity but she can only eat like 3/4 a can at a time really. she is full again and i love that. she gets to crunch her food which is what dogs do crunch things and she loves it. she also does seem to pp less to. i plan on ordering the large patties and maybe use the nibblets for treats. i give my bostons a few pieces of it to.

ok the heartworm treatment. i went and got the ivermectin from the vet. it comes in small syringes and you just open her mouth and shoot it in then she swallows it. i gotta say it went well. she had absolutely no reaction from it at all. woohoo and it costs about the same as the other generics i was paying for. so if you have an allergic bully you may want to look into ivermectin liquid for your bully.

i also got her a new pillow. he old orthopedic pillow was worn out inside and out. i have been looking for a new one but ouch the prices are awful expensive. we got this one at sams club but they have no more. :poo: so i was at petco and ive seen them there before but they were 80.00. wth? but i saw this one and it had fuzzy stuff on top ive never seen and she was sleeping of a regular dog pillow which is ok but with her spine issues and with her broken leg i feel better with her on this. its a memory foam pillow and she loves it very much. <img src="http://www.englishbulldognews.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=21008&d=1337085470&thumb=1" border="0" alt="Click image for larger version

she gets filtered water, freeze dried raw and canned food, ive bought natural yard spray to use instead of poison this time, im looking into diatomaceous earth to put into their food for natural flea and tick deterrent. i use natural seventh generation laundry detergent and softener and dish washer stuff and cleaner. just trying to give my pets and me a cleaner life.

ok so thats it for now. geez i think i have nothing to say then i get going and wth? i dont know where it comes from. lol hope everyone has a wonderful week.

ok here we are again blogging about my favorite subject. miss sarah.
well its been well over a week and we have changed some things.
well first...

ok here we are again blogging about my favorite subject. miss sarah.
well its been well over a week and we have changed some things.
well first off she is now eating canned food exclusively. i had long since thought there was something in the grandma lucys that was bothering her as whenever i tried to increase it she got symptoms of allergy. i just could not seem to stop feeding it even in the small dose she was getting. i just could not think she was getting all she needs from the canned food she is eating esp at the small price im paying for it. so when our power went out from 3:30 one day till 8am the next morning no gl and guess what her runny eyes gone. i could not figure out what was making her eyes run and well that was it. she just looked better. so i said ok miss thang im not going to give that to you anymore. now mind you i had gotten a vitamin from the vet so i was feeling better about not feeding it to her. i know she is getting all the vitamins and such she needs now. she is also getting an acidophilous pill and i have found a joint medicine that is chicken flavor she seems ok with. here is the names of what she is getting. cosequin beef flavor vitamin. natures bounty acidophilus pill. last but not least pet naturals extra strength hip and joint chicken liver flavor meds.
she is still on her daves 96% beef flavor canned food with some chicken flavor thrown in sometimes. she is doing great. her redness and yeast on her paws is going away, her tears on face are gone, tp looks wonderful though still has some hair loss, back is almost filled in, no more ear problems. all in all she is doing so good im scared lol. she has more energy and is able to stand on her hind legs now at will. she still gets tired somewhat if we go to petco and walk around alot but not like it was before. woohoo

i do worry about her getting enough protein and such from the canned food but gosh with 3 dogs and 2 cats i cannot really afford something more expensive to feed her all the time so i have ordered her some vital essentials freeze dried raw nibblets to try. if she does well with these as treats then i will order the mini patties for her to have with her canned food. the company comes recommended to me so we will see what happens. all in all its been a great week.

i am getting her the ivermectin tuesday and will also let you know how that goes. its a liquid heartworm med that supposedly has the same stuff in it as the heartguard but no flavors or additives for her to be allergic to. i have to squirt it in her mouth so we will see how that goes.

we went to petco again and she had a ball. she gets loved on and she just eats it up. all in all i am very happy with her progress and may at some point order some actual raw patties for her to eat. hm we will see.
well thats all for this time and i so hope everyone has a wonderful day.

The last few times Vegas has had a seizure, it seems as if it's been closer to 7am than 3am. This morning was no different. I posted on Facebook last night that Vegas was pacing and wouldn't stop. My husband was hoping that he would settle down once I got home from work, but he paced on. From 5 to 10 he walked and walked and walked. He went up and down the stairs, in and out of the yard...completely exhausting for me. Finally he allowed me to lift him into bed...and that is where he stayed. At 6:30 this morning he woke up "wild eyed"...in a state of what would appear to be panic. This is typical for him 'pre-seizure'. I had enough time to grab him and set him on the floor before the grand mal seizure hit. After it was over, he laid on the floor for about 10 minutes. Finally he got up and started to walk around. He was still in a state of confusion...this is apparent by the places he was walking to. Corners he never bothers with...etc. I head for the stairs and he follows me. I go down a few and turn around to help him. He gets one paw down and collapses, so I pick him up and carry him down the rest of them. Downstairs he starts to walk around. This is harder for him with the linoleum flooring. I was testing my blood sugar and he was standing at my feet looking up at me. All four of his legs give out on him and he is now belly on floor, still looking up at me. I'm not sure if any of this is registering with him or not. Orion is now up and taking interest in his strange behavior. Vegas wanted outside, but I don't want him wandering the yard unattended, so I grab O's pink collar and the leash and walk out with him. He does his business and now he is on top of his kennel...and Orion is standing over him. No doubt, she is pissed that her brother is still sporting her pink collar. Hopefully he will get some rest this morning and be back to his normal self by lunch time.

*ok so here i am again blogging about my favorite thing miss sarah. i have got to tell you that i love her so much its amazing. we spent the day...

ok so here i am again blogging about my favorite thing miss sarah. i have got to tell you that i love her so much its amazing. we spent the day together yesterday and we went to petco. oh she had a ball. she got loved on and petted which is her favorite thing. this time was different she was so full of energy and has been doing better this last week. no more carrying her to the car. her leg seems better, i mean its still broken but she seems to be back where she was before the accident. i have to give kudos to my vet he has made her life so much better. so for anyone reading this do not ever settle for a vet who does not give your pet 100%. if your not happy get a new one. i spent so much time with that other vet when i could have been with the one now.

ok so heres the bad part. sometime week before last sarah started bleeding from her booty. now she has done this before off and on for a while now and ive had a vet check her and she has a pollup there. she didnt think there was anything to be done or worry about so i didnt. well she needed her glands done and the other vets was open on sunday so we took her and she said it was prolly just her being in heat. ok now a weekend later and sometime sat evening i see she is bleeding quite a bit from booty. im like omg this is not right. next day more of same. sarah is going :poo: like every morning and i noticed it was quite hard n dark. then i notice later in day that there is some stuff coming from her tail pocket. it was white and like pudding. i got some malaket and cleaned and cleaned and wow it kept coming out. her tp was red and seemed a bit swollen. ok so i get some keflex i had left over from something else and started giving it to her. now im thinking bleeding and hard poo do not mix and so i start mixing in water with her canned food and put more water in her gl freeze dried. she needs more water in her bowels to soften up the :poo:. well she goes that evening which is new lately and it was normal color and softer and very little blood. her tp is looking better to. so vet appt tues and the vet checks her and thinks the pollup could be making the blood and that she had a tp infection but not anal glands as they are kinda thick but normal color stuff coming out and such. she cleans tp and i gotta say i thought i knew her pocket well but there were places even i had missed. so check your dogs tp closely esp if they have a deep one. so anyway i had her on the right path already so she just gave me some more keflex and said keep cleaning it with malaket and im keeping up with the more water to soften :poo:. the blood has stopped until yesterday. it kinda ruined my petco trip a bit. she went :poo: before we went in and she bled some from booty. scares me alot.

ok so enough of that and onto her food. well she is doing well with this canned and gl mixed. her coat is wonderful and full and not a hint of ear problem and her back is almost completely filled in with hair. omg she has never had full hair since we have had her. her tp is looking better and almost has hair completely around both sides. wow. her feet however are taking a bit longer but they are heading in the right direction. she was trying to get some cysts on one back foot but i am still soaking her feet for 10 minutes twice a week along with bathing her rear end where the yeast is by her tp. her rear is looking very well and she is not scratching it on everything anymore. so i know i need to soak her feet more its just a matter of mommy doing it. so ive got to make the commitment to do this at least 3 times a week. only problem with this canned is she is hungry more so than with kibble. so i do think i am going to have to find some freeze dried meat to add to her food. this am i cooked her some lowfat hamburger and will get some eggs for tomorrow for her. otherwise i love her canned food diet. she looks so amazing.

ok one more thing. i noticed that i was feeding her pork flavored heartworm meds. i talked about this in a thread. i called and told the vets office and they sold me some pills they said were not pork flavor. ok so i give her one and mind you this was like a week before all this trouble. so i email the company and not only are they pork flavor but have milk in them to. omg she is like so allergic to milk. now i do not know if they caused her problems or not so i cant say one way or the other there. so i tell the vets and they are like oh we didnt know and such. they are lucky i have bostons to half the pills and feed them to or i would be going um yall are going to take these back. ok so i get a call from the vet himself and he says i can give her some ivermectin. he says its the same meds just no flavor or additives so no worries about allergies. he says he gives it to a jack russell and he does well. he says absolutely the pork flavor could give her a reaction. hmm. i told him my story and he says this is a solution if i want to. im prolly going to do it but im not sure. there is heartguard which is beef flavor but they dont stock it so i would have to order it and then have them send a prescription there. my vet is so wonderful for calling me himself and offering this solution. now the girls in the office hm. i was also giving her joint meds innocently and hm guess what pork flavor. so i check the ones i had given her over the years and pork is the flavor and one had cheese which she is highly allergic to. omg what the hell have i done to my dog. so anyway i get a natural one which is chicken liver flavor. gave her half pill last night to see how she does and will give her half tonight and if she is ok will start giving her whole ones. so check your dogs meds to see if perhaps you are giving your dog something they are allergic to and not even knowing it.

oh my im sorry its so long but there are just things that need to be said. so here i am with my girl under my desk and me typing away. she is sleeping now and sometimes i just stare at her while shes sleeping. i just love her so much its amazing. oh i love my bostons to dont get me wrong but there is just something about my girl that just makes me smile and my heart warm up. she is my girl and thats that. so have a good one today.

It"s time to start giving Sarge the love I gave Gunny. Sarge is a good boy and we are getting to know each other really well, he is still squeamis about things and is still afraid of things hes never seen and the different noises. We brought him home he was quiet and didnt make a sound, but now hes has opened up a little and barks at everything.I think he trusts me and loves the family but still a little apprehensive which is normal knowing his background. He loves to eat and is starting to play with foster and his toys. Its going to take awhile for him to get adjusted but it will for me too! Hes not a sit around guy like gunny was he likes to be active and is into everything so I guess I gotta throw out the rocking chair and pick up the frisbee and pretend to be young and full of energy again. At first I tried to compare him to Gunny all the time but I have to stop and accept Sarge for who he is a beautiful Bully that needs me like Gunny did. This is a new beginning for both of us another road to follow and Im gamed cuz I know he is. Hes sleeping here next to my chair like Gunny would do, makes me feel good knowing that we have the chance to be buddies like Gunny and I were. I know in my heart that when its all said and done we will be inseperatable . I love you sarge!!!

For all the times you made me laugh when I didnt think I could, For all the hours you never left my side when I was really sick in bed, for being my best friend and always loving me no matter what. You were one special angel that I will never forget and miss so much that it hurts everyday. I sit on the porch and look for you sitting by my chair just two old men passing the day together never having to say a word, but your not there and it brings tears to my eyes knowing we are not together anymore. I miss singing you to sleep at nite, watching you sleep so happy and content. I wish I could have one more hour with you telling you once again and how much you mean to me . To hug you and look into those beautiful eyes sand say good by. I"ll never forget you Gunny and always know that someday somewhere we will be together again sitting on the porch watching the day pass. I know your waiting for me , be patient and know I"ll be there to hold you again and spend the end of time with you. I love you buddy.

Hey Everyone,

Yesterday a certified dog trainer stopped by my home to aid us in training Dozer, and helping us ease his seperation anxiety (although she didnt think it was S.A but instead him just being bored/spoiled). She taught us how to leash walk him properly, and after only a hour he is doing MUCH better. He is learning to like being outside and going for walks. We are still baiting him with treats but are hoping that will subside, and he can just enjoy being walked around the neighborhood without the treat incentive.

I'm teaching him to enjoy his 5 foot circle of a playpen that I set up for him...right now it's situated in the corner of the room and being "anchored" down by two of my 50lbs dumbells and my couch lol. He slept in there last night for the first time and seemed to be doing ok; no more sleeping on the couch for me! Although I was awake all night just keeping my ears open for him. This morning after food and potty he went right back in there and fell asleep. I am amazed at how much progress he has made after only 1 day!

The trainer gave us a "No Pull" harness and a citronella anti-dog barking collar. When he's left alone he usually barks for hours on end. After maybe 5 or 6 barks he stopped barking totally. Mind you, my basement stunk of citronella, but atleast he didnt keep the entire house awake in the process. I am hoping he wont need that collar when he is going to be left alone in the future.

The trainer also gave us tips on house breaking him. She told us to get rid of the wee wee pads and to try taking him out every hour. We started last night and he had 1 accident but none so far today. As soon as I woke up I took him out back in the drive way and said "Potty", he looked at me, sniffed around and relieved himself. Housebreaking is our #1 priority now and we are going to work extremely hard in getting him used to going outside.

Dozer's transition to Earthborn Meadow Feast seems to be going well. He vomited once the other day, but we scaled down his food intake and that seemed to do the trick. Starting tomorrow we will be mixing 50/50 of old food and new food, which puts him at 6 days of his first step of the transition. So far he has been pooping less, although his poop is much stinkier we are hoping that goes away soon. I'm very happy I chose this food.

Since he is going to be left alone for several hours at a time I wanted to make sure I got him a bed that would stand up to his powerful jaws in the event that he decides to start shredding it. There is a company called K9 Ballistics that sells super tough doggie beds. Although they are pricey they come with a 90 day guarentee and the material is incredibly tough and able to withstand the toughest of chewers. That being said, I elected to get him the Orthopedic Tuff Memory Foam bed in Tan color and medium sizing (27x33x6). I hope he likes it and is able to have some good night's worth of sleep on it; cant go wrong with memory foam!

Now, I leave you with a couple of pictures of Dozer :)

Look how small he looks next to my car. We also have the deck that he can go on which you can see in the picture above my car.
The chickens are always waiting to get fed in the morning, they are free range but have a nice coop for nite, I hate cages for animals. well first thing out the door its after the chickens and then go potty. Then he loves the frisbee he wears me out with that thing . then back in the house and sits and begs for toast , I give him a little tast and WOW there is something that really has tast in the world other than Fromms. Then follows me like a shadow , hes not a play alone bully. Ha has chewed up the wood on my computer chair but I need a new one anyway. Shhhhh hes napping now next to me , I hope its for awhile. Lets see what the rest of the day brings everyday is something different with him. I"m just happy the he is loving his new life and we are becoming good friends. I"m glad he let me in his life and that he choose me.:luv:

Sarge is feeling right at home and like Gunny hes a hanger, cant turn around without him right behind me. Another trait of Gunnys he has is sleeping well past noon. He loves sleeping in bed and taking all the blankets. The world is so big to him and he wants to explore everything. He is not afraid of anything, I started the lawn tractor and it didnt fase him a bit. I will soon teach him to ride in the wagon behind the tractor so he can cut the grass with me like Gunny did. He has no restrictions the house is his and he knows it, going from room to room.Him and the poodle we have foster get along good, at first we were afraid that he would be too ruff with him but Foster puts him in his place when he needs to.He has so much energy that its hard to keep up with him and he loves chasing the chickens, I'm sure that I"ll drop a few unneeded pounds along the way. the Boys have him at the park today and hes having the time of his life. I am so glad he is in our lives to see him all sprawled out on the bed in the morning with no worry's or bad days. Gunny would have loved him like we do. He loves everybody and shares his time with all of us. He certainly will be loved everyday for the rest of his life. He is carrying on where my dear Gunny left off, now gunny can rest and know my heart will always be his and will never be forgotten.

Hello Everyone!

After being a member here for some time I thought it would be nice if I started adding entries to this blog. Currently, I am the proud owner of a male English Bulldog named Dozer. He was born on November 23, 2011 and we aquired him from a pet store ( I know :nonono:) on February 15, 2012.

In the short amount of time that he's been in my care we have gone through a lot. A couple of days after getting Dozer he became very ill with pnemonia. He was in and out of the hospital and vets office practically every day. He was sick for almost a full three weeks. During that time, he was on IV drips because he would throw up his food and water constantly. Nothing was working, and I remember crying my eyes out nightly. The good folks on EBN helped me get through it and eventually Dozer beat it!!

Shortly thereafter, Dozer was diaganosed with Giardia and was being treated with 25mg of Flagyl twice a day. He finished these tablets last week and we will be getting him tested again for the Giardia sometime next month; as per our vets advice. After that, Dozer developed a very bad case of cherry eye. He woke up one night and his eye was bleeding terribly. I filled up a whole papertowel with just the blood from his eye! I took him to the emergency room and he was prescribed a dose of artifcal tears and an elizabethan collar. He was on both for a week and just this past Friday (4/6), Dozer was operated on to have the gland removed. Unfortunatly, my Vet cant do the procedure to stitch it back in, and his colleague who is able to, wouldnt be able to do it for atleast another month. This meant Dozer would be wearing that elizabethan collar for the entire time. I was hesitant to have it removed, but was left with little choice. We will be going back for a follow up this upcoming Saturday (4/14).

While he was having the aforementioned procedure done, the vet said that he discovered a hernia on Dozer's belly button. He said it wasnt anything to worry about and that he will remove it once we get him neutered sometime in August/September.

It has been a really long month and a half. I have no regrets though, I have wanted a dog my whole life and am very happy and blessed that Dozer came into my life. He is a very smart little boy and knows a full assortment of commands and tricks including; sit, stay, come, down, off, no, and even crawl. I enjoy spending my time with him and cant imagine not ever owning a dog after this!

Dozer currently weighs 28 pounds and will be starting a new diet on Earthborne Meadow Feast. He was originally on Natural Balance L.I.D Sweet Potatoes and Venision, but I read very bad things about that company and I think he is allergic to potatoes because his face smells yeasty lately. As for treats I have been using Nature's Variety Instinct Rabbit & Ginger treats (I'll be switching off of these soon since I recently discovered N.V gets their rabbit from China). I'll keep my fingers crossed in the mean time, and will update on his status in the coming days.

In any event, it feels good being able to communicate with everyone on here, and it makes me feel better knowing that a lot of these problems that Dozer's been having arent new to the bully world. It gives me great strength and temperence knowing I have the knowledge of this community behind me.

In closing, I want to thank everyone for their continued support and concerns. I know with EBN behind me, Dozer and I will never be alone!

Thank you for your time.

Respectfully Yours,

John & Dozer

ok its time for a sarah update.

she is doing very well. the air is some better so she is better of course. her paws are not clearing up as well as i was hoping. this yeast stuff is a buggar. she still gets her paws soaked in chloraseb twice a week as well as her lower back scrubbed with it. dont get me wrong its going away just very slowly. i am happy to see progress for sure. i think if i soaked her feet 3 times a week like the vet said it would be even better. i still put tolnaftate on her pads and lotrimin in between her pads well not every day but like every other day. yes im lazy sometimes lol.

ok well i gotta say her fur is very soft now and shiny. she also has grown hair on her belly she never had before. i think she looks like she is supposed to look for a bully. still seems to be some more hair growing so we will see how much more grows. her back is filling in nicely to. still black in some places but is clearing up as well. her tailpocket is cleaning up to. i clean it daily still as it seems itchy to her somewhat but its cleaner and not as smelly and i dont have to do as much to it as ive had to. the hair is also growing back on the one side of her pocket that has been bare for a while now.

She still has environmental allergies and while i was gone bf was giving her zyrtec which i took her off of and she was fine. she seem to do better with it but if i use it alot like every day twice a day she seems to have a problem after a few days so im going to use it in the am and benadryl in the pm and see how that goes. zyrtec is much better if your bully can tolerate it i recommend it over benadryl for bad allergies.

so now on a lighter note my bully is in heat. no she isnt fixed i tried to get her done but noone wanted to do her as she is overweight not even my vet. so i said screw it. anyway she is at the end of her heat and ive never seen such stuff. she goes outside and stands in the yard and waits. its like a boy is going to come by and get her while she stands there. my dog is a hoe. oh well what ya gonna do. luckily there are no boys around here anymore but mine and they are fixed.

also she just got weighed as we got her glands cleaned and she is 46 pounds. woohoo she used to be 50. thats awsome. thats another thing about this no kibble diet she is losing weight and i feed her plenty. there are very few fillers and carbs in canned so its doesnt put on weight like kibble. also she is not puffy like she was. she used to look so puffy in her face and belly as i guess the allergy to the food was getting her. now she is not puffy at all and is slimming up nicely. she has lots of energy well for her and she is doing more things.

ok well thats it for now. have a wonderful day.

Well he came into our lives fast and full of furry! The ride home was nothing less than chaotic, Going over those Blue Ridge Mts. NEVER again!! a Little Bulldog that was clueless to everyone and everything around him, he wouldnt sleep was restless and like taking a little kid into a candy store, he was into everything in that van I think even the glove box what a long 14 hrs and back one we will never forget. He didnt know us and we surely didnt know him but by the time we got back we were all married into this wonderful union. He only pooped in the van on Connies pillow that see loves and takes with her on trips , she dosent like hotel pillows, he also peed on it along with a blanket and leash and that was only 20 mins into the trip. He finally settled just before we got home falling asleep on the back seat, . He learned to give a kiss on the way home and likes it all 1000 times. Got home around midnight and I was worried how he would do sleep in bed seeing he was always in a crate. Took him out to do his business and in to see how he would do in bed, we were praying it would go good cuz we were so tired and needed some sleep. At first he didnt want any part of it but when I turned the big screen tv on he was something more than doumbfounded, he sat there and watched Law and Order like he was a fan of the show not taking his eyes off it for a second! The real test was what happened when the room went dark? He would go back from me to Connie wanting to be loved, which he got! I sang the Gunny song and within mins he was sleeping like a baby. He slep thru the nite like a little Angel. In the morning he was ready to go pee, no accidents! that was about 8:00 am came back in and hoped he would come back to bed for a little while longer we were beat. Got up on the bed and went to sleep for another 2 hrs. We got up he went and did his business and back in for breakfast boy did he love that. He loves playing with Foster and they get along fine. He is a great little boy and we will spoil him like Gunnyboy. We took Gunny with us so he could be part of it. now lets see what the day brings we will keep you all informed. This took a joint effort of a lot of people and we are indebted to all of you.

I went to bed late the day Gunny Died. I was very upset and I could tell Cooper sensed something was wrong. He was just very down and acting sad. We went to bed that night and around 3:30 in the morning I hear Cooper jump off the bed.....Cooper has free range of the house and is fully potty trained. I heard him jump off and thought to myself I need to get up and let him our or at least check to see if he decided he was going to be naughty and get into stuff he wasn't suppose to!

Well with my lack of sleep the last 2 night and from crying all day from Gunny's sad news. I was so tired I fell back to sleep. A half hour later I woke up and saw Cooper was back on the bed!!!! Um he can't jump on our bed it is too hight for him. He will usually stand on the side and look at me like Hello MoM....get me up here. So I was so confused on how he got up there. I was thinking O great I hope he wasn't naughty. So I walk out the room as he was watching me... it was dark but I saw somethin gon the carpet in the hallway and turned the light on.... Yep  Cooper popped a squat right in the middle of the hallway and relieved himself! :nono: I am going to blame this on his being depressed about Gunny passing! @gunnyboy.... :) I actually blamed myself and that I shoulda gotten up in the first place. I just son't understand why if he had to go that bad...why did he not go by the door. But instead just walks around the hall and living room and then decides O I have to go potty.... I think I will just go right here and my mommy won't even know. She has been crying all day anyway so I know she won't even notice a bit! :cursing: I woke my hubby up and asked him if he put Cooper back on the bed and he said no. I was thinking nice....so the little **** and jump up on the bed and has been making me break my back to pick him up and put him on the bed..... I am wondering if there was a pillow or something on the floor and he cheated..... I will never know I wish I had a camcorder going in my room to see what he was doing and how many times it took him to get up on the bed!! I know he has attempted to jump up before and jumps high and falls backward right on his bum!!! He use to go under the bed all the time and sleep but about 5 months of age he was too too big to fit his fat as** under anymore.! So this is my first official Blog of Cooper.....I will try to write here and there in memory of Gunny and for Tom....but once Tom gets a new baby to spoil He has to start his blogs again!!

I was up most the night before and till early morning... Talk to Tom @gunnyboy at 1:30 in the morning on 4/4/12. Neither of us could sleep. I told Tom.... O No your going to get in trouble if Gunny wakes up and sees you are out of bed and on the computer...He replies "shhh be quiet, you might wake him up!" I laugh and Tom asks why I am up. I tell him can't sleep never can. We chat a bit and he tells me to go to bed and get some sleep. I went to bed but didn't sleep much.
Woke up a little after 7 am and got my daughter ready for school. While she sat and waited for her ride I got on computer and got on my facebook quick and my heart dropped. There it was a pic of Gunny with RIP on it! I was in shocked and quickly logged on to EBN and saw I had a private Message from Connie @Gunnys Mom ...She told me Gunny had passed away early that morning and Tom was not taking it well. I started crying right as I read the word Gunny had passed away.
I was in shock and and got on Toms page and asked if he was on and to talk to me if he was....Then another email from Connie asking if I got her email. By them I could barely even type...I was so emotional! Thinking OMG I was just talking to Tom 6 hours earlier and and everything was fine. Gunny even got his way that night and got his cookie he wanted.
I do not know exactly why Tom and I bonded so much and so fast but we did. I truly believe Gunny is what brought us to each other and is what Brought Tom on EBN to meet all these awesome bully owners. I know Gunny knew when he passed Tom was going to need all the support he could get. And Thank God he joined because I know all of us on EBN helped him get through this horrible tragedy! Tom and Gunny touched so many of us in the short time he was on EBN.

After reading Connie's email I quickly emailed all my buddies...well so I thought...it didn't go through and I wasn't aware of it...but I did get ahold of @cowsmom and then tried to email everyone again. I knew Tom and Connie needed us and I knew everyone was going to be hurt by this loss. We got through the day and I talked to Tom and Connie for over an hour that night on facebook. We laughed, we cried, we were confused, shocked, wondering why this happened, and cried some more. I am so Happy I met everyone on this site. There are so many great people on here that I feel such a strong bond with even with only knowing then online and for only a couple months.

I told Tom I would try to blog....I will truly miss Tom and Gunny's blogs. I told him Cooper is No Gunny and my blogs won't even compare!!! I think we all know there is and always will be One Gunnyboy!!!

Well Gunny last nite so hard without you having you butt next to me, I cried myself to sleep and am missing you so much. I got up this morning looking for you, it was an empty space where you used to lay. Again the tears and loneliness started again knowing that I"ll never be able to kiss you in the morning and talking to you like you were human. You were always glued to me all day looking up a me wanting me to love on you every second. You have given me much more than I deserve and I hope I gave you all the love that you needed.I still see your sweet face looking at me and being content just being next to me. I aam so thankful that I was right there kissing you when you passed.Life will never be the same without you.Time will pass and I"ll never stop thinking about you and nothing will ever fill the empty hole thats in me.Please be happy and know that I will be with you, I promise and then we can pick up were we left off. I"ll pray that God has you in his arms comforting too! I dont have to tell you how bad I hurt , but dont worry I"ll be ok till I see you again. I Love you Gunnyboy!!:luv:

He started biting at my shoes pulling at my shirt and wouldn"t leave the cookie deal alone.Later that nite when we were in bed connie was eating one of his cookies, he sat between her and I watching Connie with the darn cookie. all of a sudden he would give her a low growl and then bark real loud at her, I think he was pi**ed cuz she was eating his cookie then one more LOUD bark and gave her the stink eye, jumped at her pulling on her nite gown, she was screaming to get this crazy dog off her, It was all I could do jut to kinds hold him back, he let go of her grabbed her pillow and pulled it right out from under her that 92 pounds is hard to deal with when he wants to do something. I got him settled down, he would look at me then look at her , telling me to tell her to give him the cookie. Of course I got in trouble and he got a cookie. :cursing:

ok so its that time again. update on sarah.

well she is doing well now. the food seems to be agreeing with her and overall she seems to be doing fine. She is on the daves canned food and so far ive given her the 95% beef, and on can of chicken oops that slipped in, and the grain free salmon. ive played with how much to give her and she seems to do the best on about 1/2 can am 1/2 can pm with bout 3 spoonfuls of gl. ive had to add more water to the gl as the less water seemed to be to much for her. per one cup of gl i added one and 1/2 cups of water and was to watery and then i went with one cup and 1/4 cup and it was not enough and i think the food was to strong then. so i have settled one one cup and 1/3 cup water per cup of gl. seems to be the ticket. i still have to mix it with her canned as she really wont eat it out of the bowl herself. so far so good with this.

now for her yeast. some good some bad. some of her paws seem better all around and others like one of her back paws seems like the yeast is worse on the one pad. redness in between is worse. im thinking its environmental as she was having issues with tearing in one eye, a small red spot on her right side wrinkle beside nose, and redness and bumps on the chin.
on the bumps on chin i put hydrocortisone cream and the redness and bumps would seem to go away pretty well. on her one eye i cleaned with peroxide and put lotrimin cream on a cotton ball and rubbed it in the fold. and tried to do that with the red wrinkle beside nose.
i think it was environmental as she seems better now with her face issues. now if i could just get her feet yeast under control. grrr. she gets her half bath today. i also rub lotrimin powder between the pads underneath and i put tolnaftate on the pads themselves.

her fur is soft and shiney and her back is better with the hair growth. her tp still has some issue but its much better overall. i still clean with tolnaftate, hydrocortisone, neopsorin. then if needed put lotrimin powder in there to.

i did find a kibble im interested in i think she could eat its called great life. i dunno though if i want to put her back on kibble now that i see how she is off of it. some wonder about her teeth and cleaning with no kibble. ive red arguments both ways. some say kibble does not clean teeth some say it does. not sure. she does chew on a deer antler now and then. will keep an eye on this. i am thinking of the great life canned food. look really good so i may order 6 cans to put in rotation and see. but they are more expensive so have to consider that to.

great life also has some supplements im looking at for sarah. one is arthro-aid and one is enzymes pro. thinking of the arthro-aid first as she has issues with her leg. payday is a bit away so that will wait till then.

i think we are going to be outside today as im trying to bag up leaves. she has taken to going pp on them. and sniffing them and they are wet underneath so im sure thats not good for her fungus allergies she has. so trying to get them up to see if that helps her. oh yea i also checked on her heartworm meds as i dont go to that vet anymore and was going to order online and guess what. i thought the last time i gave it to her she acted funny for a couple of days as it is a bigger dose as she got a bit fatter. so when i was looking to order online i see the heartguard is beef so i assumed this generic kind was to but no its pork based. omg she is allergic to pork. so mama is having to scramble to get something else for her. grrr.

ok well i think thats it so have a good one
I would like a new puppy but not at the experience of gunnys feelings and I dont think I could give another bullie what I give to gunny, hes my boy and I love him with all my heart and were together all day everyday and there will never be another Gunnyboy! So I have to pass on a puppy and continue to to give him all of me like he dose. <3

Well she went :poo: and what do you know it was almost normal again after only 2 feedings of this new canned food called Daves. I was so happy. :DSo we go in and walk around for a bit and come out and when we get around the building she stops. She would not walk anymore so i stop for a minute and then try to go and she wont budge. Im like omg she is to tired to get back to the truck. I look at the truck way over there and her. So i pick her up and carry her to the truck. She is breathing very heavy and I put her in. Now mind you it is not hot so my poor baby just cannot walk very much with her leg and it breaks my heart. I was going to go to Petco which is where everyone knows her but alas we just went home and she pooped out and slept for a while. :(

Anyway so I took all that Merrick back and got some more Daves beef 95% and a couple of other ones like salmon and duck and sweet potato just for variety. She eats it very well and her yeast is so much better even with this food. her tp has hair on the side that never does. Her back is almost no black and the hair is growing in. She has more hair on her belly than ever before and her pigmentation is coming back. her paws are slowly losing their redness and the yeast on the pads is going away. im very impressed so far but will hold out true judgement on the food till she has been on it a few weeks. I will tell you this canned is 1.59 compared to 2.39 for merrick and so far it seems much better.

Im still having to give her benadryl every day twice a day but with the air the way it is now and her environmental allergies thats a given. Im not sure if I told you that I had to take her off zyrtec as crazy as it seems the more i gave the more she seemed to react to it. I was giving her 1/2 pill twice a day. Well after a few days she just would get hot and panty after i give it to her and i would have to give her benadryl to calm it down. Its a shame because it worked better than Benadryl but she just cant take it. In fact ive used several anti-histamines and Benadyl is the only one she tolerates so go figure.

Well thats all for today so have a good one. :D

I wanted to introduce you guys to Slinky and Popeye who are 12 and 11 years old. They are still pretty spry. Slinky is slow on certain days when her arthritis acts up but she still thinks she is a baby.
I texted his dog walker to see how he was doing and he said Watson was getting along fine with his dog. I feel like getting another update from him but I don't want to be overbearing and demanding updates.

ok its been a few more days now. well some good things and some not so good things.
ive switched her from wellness 95% to merrick 96% simply because the wellness is not made to be fed by itself its a topper. the merrick is a complete meal so i changed so she could get the vitamins she needs and other things since she would not eat the gl so well.

i must say her coat is good her yeast is better and she has a waist now that she didnt have before. her yeast on her paws is going away and her hair on her tailpocket and back is growing back. She looks better than she has in a long time. Her poo is not good anymore though. last time i saw it it was not alot dark brown and formed like it should be but kinda softer at the end. well now its just light brown and kinda runny. grrr. well i think that the merrick is not working out so good. my boston does not want to eat it either just as a topper. not saying its bad food just not working for my dogs.

I did however spot a food called daves. i dont think its well known and it was like 70 cents cheaper so i asked my guy at my feed store about it. he says its small owned company and he says that he has people who buy it alot. So i got 2 cans of the beef 95% and when i opened it up i was like wow. not alot of water like in the merrick and the food looked alot darker and smelled more like beef than the merrick. she ate it when i gave her some on my fingers and my boston finished up his food that he had left from the morning when i put it on it. So looks like im going to return the merrick i just bought and buy some more of this. will see how the poo goes with this food. they have alot of choices and looks like there was more she could eat than the merrick. if no change i may have to buy some vitamins and go back to wellness.

ok so thats it for now. hope everyone has a wonderful day. :D

I'm so pissed and angry. I just don't know how to handle myself right now. Vegas got out of bed and came down stairs a few minutes before 7:30. Typical of his morning, he goes right into his kennel and falls back asleep. Less than 10 minutes later he gets up and walks to the side of my husbands chair. Mark has a tv tray wedged between the wall and his chair and uses it to set stuff on. Typical tv tray...it's legs form an X . If looking at the X his chair is on the left and the wall is on the right. There is very little room for a bulldog of Vegas size to fit between the wall and the leg. One of the things he sets on it is ice water. Often, he drinks the water and leaves the glass. Then the ice melts and it sits until he gets home the next day. Also, mail, magazines, DVD's, remotes.......and he has his laptop sitting on the arm of the chair. Well, today..Vegas gets up and starts to wander. He goes right for the tv tray and starts to push his way beside it. He gets stuck and i know he's about to have a seizure. At that time, his body starts to tense and everything on top of the table falls, including the cup of water. Now I'm soaked and Vegas is stuck. His body has wrapped around the tv tray legs and he is now seizing. His body tries to form an "o" so literally his body is wrapped around the legs of the tray. With everything falling and me swearing, Orion is upset and barking.

What a way to start the morning. I'm leaving the whole mess for my husband to clean up, that's how pissed I am. I've asked him to put the cup in the sink each night, but he forgets. Maybe this will remind him. He's lucky the water didn't soak his laptop.

Anyways, about two minutes later, Vegas is up. No pacing, in fact he just wants up in his daddy's chair to sleep. Vegas is upset because he has a wine box turned over that he uses as a step to get in the chair. It's covered in water and paper and the tv tray is on it's side blocking it. He is perfectly able to get into the chair from the other side, but he is a creature of habit and doesn't want to. So, I pick him up a put him in the chair.

:cursing: < at my husband.
