    Oliver's Story...
Oliver is 1 year old. He was surrendered to rescue because he had a cataract his owner felt he couldn’t afford to care for. Cataracts are uncommon in young dogs and are hereditary. The good news is that he only has it in one eye. As a puppy he has learned to compensate for that lack of vision (to the untrained eye he does not appear to have any vision deficits). Additionally, the eye specialist Oliver has seen since he has been in rescue did say there is no medical need for surgery. He will likely have to be on eye medication for life to help prevent it from getting worse and to avoid any other trauma or issues with the eyes. Beyond this, Oliver is your healthy stereotypical stubborn bulldog puppy. He needs a strong and educated dog owner as he is very much a puppy. He needs a lot of exercise and play time and to be tough what is his to play with… and what is not. Puppy training will be part of his adoption contract. While he is completely house trained, he is not properly socialized with other dogs and shows some “dominant” traits. For now, Oliver would like to go to a home where he is the only dog and can get 100% of attention and love. It is possible that he could go to a home with a submissive female. He does need to lose about 5 pounds (as “cute” as a chubby puppy can be this is not good for his long term health). He will need to be fed premium food and walked regularly to help expedite this weight loss.
Oliver’s Adoption Donation will be $700

    Update: I've been ADOPTED!
