Hi everyone! To start this off I am a 30 year old mother of two. I was married for 7 years and went through 3 years of fertility treatment to get my Zoey who is 4. My marriage ended around the time Zoey turned one so it was just me and my little one for a while. Zoeyís father and I had a hard time going through the fertility process and it really broke our marriage down so by the time it ended there was nothing left. I met my current husband on a web site, of all places! He was a single father of, at the time, a 4 year old. Her name is Mackenzi. Her mother left in the middle of the night while my husband and Mackenzi slept and she has never returned or been that involved. Mackenzi has cerebral palsy, as well as autism and a developmental delay. It turned out that it was too much for her mother to handle. My husband Adam is an old fashion type of person. He is a hard worker and takes pride in providing for his family. The day we met on the web site I had a gut feeling and I have learned never to ignore that feeling. We started talking on the phone for hours at a time and finally agreed to meet. The first date was the classic dinner and a movie but the good night kiss shook my world and that was it, we have been together ever since. I have been lucky enough to stay home with our girls and be a homemaker. I am finishing up my certificate in Medical Transcription and I have one semester left. I have been able to keep my GPA at 3.823 and thatís with taking 17 credit hours. With this education I will be able to stay home with my girls and still be able to make it to every Doctorís appointment and every game.
I grew up in a small town in Nevada which happens to be the middle of nowhere. My home town is only 6 miles long and the nearest Wal-Mart is 4 hours away. It was a very simple way of living without the hustle and bustle of a city. My mom raised me and my brother alone and she worked very hard to provide for us. She taught me what it's like to be a mother first and foremost. My family is very into the outdoors; we went camping a lot, and hunted for a lot of our meat. Also in a small town everyone knows each otherís business and everyone gets into the small town chatter. When I was young I gave everyone a reason to chatter and raised a little hell. I grew up fast and married young but somehow turned out just fine.
It was about 4 years ago when I started thinking about a bulldog, but I was newly single and wanted to give myself time to settle into my new life, so I tried to wait as long as I could. I knew it was just a matter of time before a bully would be joining my family. When we moved into our house with a fenced yard, I knew it was time. I started doing research and found a breeder 4 hours away and then came Lola!
I was able to pick Lola out at a week old, when I first saw her I knew, and when I first held her I just melted. I was lucky enough to get pictures from the breeder every day and was able to go see her whenever I came into town. At 6 weeks I took her home and I have been in love ever since.
Lola is a ball of energy and is really a PITA! She is smart and has the most funny, wacky personality. She is so loving and seems to pick up on my every mood and knows when I need love and when I want to play. My Lola has been an amazing gift! She has been my companion while my husband works a week away at a time and has loved me no matter how bad of a mood Iím in or what I have done. I think I have learned more from her than she could ever learn from me! Thank all of you for being part of our journey and for the constant support!
