Luvin' My Bullie
My name is Paula, I am 31 years old and I live in good ole Alabama with my amazing husband of seven wonderful years and our three fur kids, Chaos the bully (10 weeks), Gigi the boston (9 months) and Macie Grey the cat (6 years). We currently live in Tuscumbia in a rental house since we decided to sell our first home almost two years ago. We planned to only rent while we were looking for our dream home, but we have loved it here and dread moving again, so we are still here two years later. I suffer with PCOS, polycystic ovarian syndrome, which is basically a hormonal imbalance and it has caused Randal and I not to be able to have any biological children as of now.
I am blessed with the most amazing family I could ever ask for. I have a bond like no other with my mother, we can finish each others sentences without even thinking about it. I have a great dad and two wonderful sisters, a niece and nephew whom I have helped raise (I call them mine) and three additional nephews. I love spending time with my family, cooking out, shopping, and going to work with the hubby. He is an audio-visual engineer and works for a local TV station. He produces and edits footage and makes commercials, etc.
I have grown up with animals my entire life and have a very deep love for all of them. I have had cats, dogs, hamsters, ferrets, hermit crabs, pot bellied pig and even a chameleon! I would own a farm if I had the funding and land and rescue all that I could. My love for the English Bulldog breed started at a young age. I went to Sheffield where the mascot was an EB. I was very active in school as a cheerleader and in high school was Bite-Chu the SHS mascot. Through the years I wanted one, at the time, mainly because I loved how they look- the wrinkles and big, stout, masculine body. As I grew older I began researching and fell more in love with the breed though I was no where near financially stable to think about affording one. Randal and I got married and got Macie the cat and Boss our boston. We loved them dearly but still I had the desire for an EB. I always said one day I will have one. I began working at Target in management and one of my peers was the proud owner of an English Bulldog, and was getting a new EB pup, so of course that didn't help at all. Next thing I knew, a very close friend got Ms Lucille, of course, an EB too. So, we have always been responsible and keep some money back but I didn't want to deplete our emergency fund to buy a bully so I told Randal when tax time comes, I want my bully. We have everything else we need and are financially stable, so he said okay, you will get it one way or the other (He was never an animal person til he met me).
I started searching and found Chaos and knew he was my baby. I love this dog more than I ever have loved any other....just unexplainable! He has such a personality....human like. I am not loving the potty training and the puppy biting, but wouldn't take anything for this lil' guy. I have learned so much from all of you, overall health issues, making sure I feed him a good food, and just tips on everyday issues! I am so thankful I found all of you and am looking to share many more years of pictures and stories with you. I stumbled across EBN on facebook in my search for my baby and have been a full EBN addict ever since. I also am now a rescue moderator and I am looking so forward to helping all these awesome furkids who need their forever home!! Thanks for reading my story (I could have written a book...had to cut it short) , looking forward to learning more about you all too!
