A member of the community once asked us what our mission was here at English Bulldog News and why we decided to create this website. As I thought about the answer, I knew it was going to be something that I would like to share with all the members and guests who visit English Bulldog News.

First and foremost, our mission here is to help rescue as many English Bulldogs as possible. How can we do this?  By helping owners learn more about their breed, by helping future owners find a puppy, by helping Bulldog Rescue Organizations with donations and spreading the love of Bulldog Rescue.  Also  by creating a wonderful place where bulldog owners, future bulldog owners, bulldog lovers, bulldog breeders, rescue and shelters, could strike up friendly conversation, ask questions, show off their bullies with photos & give helpful tips to other bully lovers in need. We believe that information and education is important for current and future bulldog owners.

I will admit that many years ago I myself gave my beloved bully away.  She was from a puppy mill in Hungary, (got her from an importer) and had severe allergy problems.  We were traveling all throughout the USA for our job, and she was miserable in many places that have high allergens.  I felt that I did not have what it took to give her the home she deserved, and making her travel was not good for her.  I gave her to a dear friend who I knew could give her the care she needed.  This dear friend of mine worked in bulldog rescue and dedicated her life to the breed.  Many of you may frown upon me for doing this, but I did it because I loved her like crazy and we knew our friend could care for her better than we could.

If only I had known then what I have learned here at English Bulldog News.  Not from myself- no.  From what I have learned from our members and fellow bulldog owners.  I am certain I would have never made that choice to let her go.  I think that if I would have had the tools and support I needed to care for her, she would still be with us today.  No, she never ended up in rescue, but how many of them do, simply because the owners are not prepared with the information they need to care for an English Bulldog?

If we can help just ONE owner with useful information or advice, maybe that bully will not end up in a shelter or rescue, and all of the hard work we put into the site everyday will be worth it. If we can help ONE shelter or rescue place a dog, then again, it will all be worth it. If we can donate even just ONE dollar to a rescue, it will surely be worth it.  If we can save just ONE bulldog, it will, without a doubt, all be WORTH IT!

I had been working at another website for over a year as a moderator for their forums. I loved it.  This was a forum for a video game, Hot Shots Golf! It is a great community and I found that I really just liked helping people for no reason at all. Self gratifying you could call it. I made hundreds of great friends there, and enjoyed visiting the site everyday.

I am a bit obsessed with my bullies. I love cuddling with them and playing with them, and I woke up one morning, and I don't even know how I thought of it, or even why, but I decided to create a forum of my own.  I think I had a dream about it, because I just woke up one morning with the idea.  I begain searching other available sites and decided to create one the way I always dreamed of. It was not that I did not like the other available sites,  they are wonderful and contain great resources for bulldog lovers.  I just thought that creating another would be even better!  The more bully love out there- the better right?  It was now my time to put my love of bullies and my non-stop creative thoughts to use.  I wanted it to be a forum, but I also wanted to provide separate pages with as much information as possible. After staring at the computer for 7 days installing the software and getting it all set up, I opened this website, and thought my eyes were going to bleed (seriously)! January 29th, 2010 was the exact day we officially opened English Bulldog News.

Once I got started I found so many fun things I could add to make it even better. The best part about this software is that it does protect your privacy. Even I don't know your password!  You can choose wether you want to receive notifications over e-mail, and what options you want displayed to other users.

Other forums  have much different setups, and I wanted something where our members could do more than just create discussions.  Here our members can create their own user profile, create albums, blog, have discussions, chat, enter contests, learn about bulldogs, help bulldog owners, help rescue bulldogs, list scams, list lost bullies, play games, ect. A facebook/myspace/forum all combined into one. We will continue to add as many new and exciting features to the site, and more pages with useful information, so come back for your next visit soon!
